Just heard from my dealer that there will be no 2SS camaro's produced untill August September. All V6's to start. Has anyone else heard this? If this is the case there are going to be a lot of upset people, because i doubt if anybody preodered a V6. Does anyone think this might change? This really suck for me because i am #1 on my dealers allocation list. Before this news, it looked like middle of april i would have had my car.

GM is never going to do this again. I hope everyone here had fun with this launch, because it's the last time it's ever happening.

I expect the 6th gen Camaro to be tested on some lonely back roads where nobody can complain about the headlights, built in some obscure assembly plant in the middle of Nebraska, and no images would be released until they arrived at dealers so that nobody could complain about the ambient lighting.

1. GM will build V6 models for dealers at start of production. This will NOT take that long.
2. A good percentage of preorders are V6 models.
3.

Somehow, hundreds of thousands to millions of dealers all over the country manage to do their jobs despite their colossal idiocy.

No they haven't, not yet. There are some out there that think V6's will be harder to get than V8's.

Camaro5's position on this is wait and see. None of the players in this debate are being endorsed at this time. There are way too many variables in the equation.

NOT TRUE!!!!!

If you don't believe me ask TAG when his car is expected to be delivered.

I swear, if I could go back in time.....

But it goes along with what you are saying.

So, for my latest news on the ABL. I asked multiple people at the Chevy display in Daytona about ABL. half of them knew what it was. Of those only about half of them knew there was a problem and only one knew how it was supposed to work.

That one person was very tight lipped. In fairness to her she wasn't extremely knowledgeable on the Camaro.

So, my point of this useless post is to say.... "No new news."

C'mon....forced to order? Only the "got to be the first on the block" people, and that's their egotistical problem. Most aren't so easily intimidated into parting with their money.

And I don't think the early release of information by GM has in any way tainted this launch, nor should it affect their next one. Sure, people are finding things to complain about, but how many orders have actually been canceled because of it? I doubt more than a handful. Even if 500 to 1,000 cancel because of stripes, ABL, etc., GM's still at least 10,000 cars ahead of the game. The price for them - overlooking some whining. Not a bad deal.

Hopefully our state gets electricity by then! Also, it might take a while to get part shipments seemings how we use covered wagons. But you're right, ya sure wouldn't have to worry about pictures of it. But I could use my telegraph to send out updates of their progress.
