The only time I was getting low, and sometimes awful mileage was during my first thousand or so miles while I was breaking it in (and I was rather thorough in that regard, and not all that gentle), and at times I was averaging around 11-12mpg. After that thousand miles, my fuel economy stabilized to the averages I'm getting now.

Oh, and the 2011 has the same 16-gallon tank as the '05-'10.
Ah looks like he was misinformed. I dont keep up with the specs on the mustang, Im just going off of what he has told me. Thats good to hear you mpg picked up. He only has 600 or so miles on the car last time i talked with him, good to hear that improved for you once it broke in some. Thanks for the info

I cannot say anything bad about the test drive. The Camaro is one fine ride to say the least. I then went to the Ford dealership and drove a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 6M with the standard 3.31 rear gear. While the Camaro wins in the exterior appearance category the Mustang excelled in the performance category. Since performance is most important to me I am going with the Mustang 6M and the optional 3.73 rear gear. I had previously driven the Mustang with the 3.73 gear and it was most impressive. If Ford offered a 4:10 from the factory I would go with that one.
Thanks again.
If you are adding power to the 5.0, you may grow into the 373s, and the 410s would be overkill at higher power levels... enjoy.

Now when its been modified like that, it looks really good and i like it. What i really dislike is the rear quarters. The way they bulge out, in certain angles i think its ugly. Some colors do hide it better for me but still bothers me. Mustangs rear has grown on me a bit more and well since they dont have a bulge like the Camaros, it helps me like them a bit more.

Let us know how it goes with that I am curious if you will loose torque and gain hp with it.

Yep that is what should happen. Make more power up top and lose a little torque.

BTW nice numbers WBT.

Yep, I felt exactly the same way but I have gotten used to it. I think it isn't so bad on the Shelby. But in comparison, I still prefer the look of the rear of my SS better.

^ I think the 2010+ Shelby rear looks bad ass and better then the dated look of the 07-09 and is just as well styled as the Camaro's rear. It doesn't even need stripe's to look cool and it share's the same rear bumper and diffuser as the CS/GT but has a larger GT500 specific spoiler and that's the only difference.
