I'm curious, does Edelbrock send a tune with their E-Force Superchargers?
On the full kit they do. But was the car dyno tuned ? We dont know the full story of course yet and we need to

I have an Edelbrock system that has been installed for several months now and it was tuned by Ted Jannetty. No problems here so far and I personally think the Edelbrock system is one of the better choices.

I also have the Edelbrock and it was installed and tuned by Cincy Speed. I have had no problems and while dynoing Tracy at Cincy told me what the limits were based on his findings and I went with it. To date no problems and now going back to Cincy Speed for a cam, fuel system upgrades and a torq convertor.

You should have had it dyno tuned before you ran the rpm that high. It was probably running lean. After I installed mine, I took it easy till I had it dyno tuned. The tuner found the A/F ratio very lean. Had to run it a few times to get the A/F ratio where it was safe. It ran out of fuel at 6500 rpm, so he changed the rev limiter to 6000 rpm to make it safe.

Same thing happen to me, the tuner told me that the car was running lean. At the dyno he first ran the car to 4000 rpm, made a few adjustments and ran it again at the rev limiter. He told me that he had to pull some timming (or couldnt add more timming) due to the A/F ratio.

When I got my best pass (11.87) I hit the rev limiter almost at the end of track in 3rd gear. Good thing nothing happen since I did it again (11.88)in 4th gear this time shifting at 6200 rpm

Anyway I just bought some TORCO just to be safe at the track..

if you had ANY other mods you should definetly get it tuned by a professional and not rely on the canned tune.

No this is incorrect. The canned tune does not disable them. It used to desensitize them a little as do most tuners when they tune for a big cam to alleviate the false knock. Edelbrock has returned the parameters to stock though just to avoid trouble. They did it as the s/c throws some more noise than the normal engine does. You can upgrade your software to the latest version on-line with them. I talked to the guy in charge of the Edelbrock tune today.

If your looking for more than the kit was made for then your taking a chance. Its not what can be done its for how long it can be done for on pump gas.
Again.. its a cast piston it wont handle much abuse from bad gas... keep the boost down and the timing pulled ...

Just my personal opinion, but why would you want to upgrade a canned tune? If you want the car to run properly (Safe) with a SC then I would get a reputable tuner to tune it.

Oh here we go again..

ls3 stock and blower is not a favorable combination unless you leave it set to factory set up and have no other power adders of any kind.

Kick it up a notch and expect the worst.

Build the engine to perform with the blower and you will be nothing but satisfied.

Well I wont argue that a reputable tuner who respects the limits of the internals and pump gas and stock compression and doesnt have a history of breakage by doing stupid things might have a good idea how to deliver a safe tune. BUT reputable is a relevant term these days

If Edelbrock made it intentionaly mild and you step beyond that it doesnt matter who is tuning it Edeblrock is not at fault. They have specifics to the warranty and if you want the 5k warranty money then you follow the directions.... unless said tuner is going to give you 5k to fix it.

To me the Edelbrock warranty is not worth the money and why would anyone spend the dough for a SC and then skimp on a tune. As far as the tuner goes that's why I chose TED JANNETY and my car now runs way better than it did from the factory. I am sure there are other good tuners that sponsor this site as well and everyone has to choose who they feel comfortable with.
