Top Speed
It would sure be nice if it hit in the 190's.

I say 165. The 4th. Gen. topped out around there and with more power and a little more drag, I think it'll get right about that.

i thought the LT was limited due to the tires.... upgrade those and it will go faster

The LT has Perelli's, and one of the magazines (MotorTrend?) reported that it was limited to 155. I don't know how much faster it can go, honestly...would be interesting to find out. |

Shoot, LT1s had a hard time getting up to the upper 150s, and they were rated at 275-285 horse', early on. They were a little more slippery though.

One of the car TV shows did a segment on the top speed of the Challenger SRT-8. The run was done on a dry lake bed. The car topped out just shy of 180 (178 I believe) if I am remembering correctly.

All I know is the tires on the SS are ZR rated. The Z rating is for tires capable of running over 186 MPH.

it was confirmed a long time ago that the governor will be set at 155mph because of the vehicle speed sensors that will be used... your speedo might say faster, but you'll be hitting a soft limiter or a fuel cutoff at 155mph... as with the 4th gens, I'm sure you will be able to tune it out... after that tuning, I'm fairly positive that the top speed will be somewhere around 175-180mph.

You have an LS3, maybe just a bit less then the vette, not sure, i do know for the 2LT and RS rims for the 6 limits it at only 155, if you buy the base, or even the LT i think, its limited around 110 or something, i remember Scott saying that.
