Just do the fuse pull after going to 93. I always use 93 in my baby.

Sorry,
What's the "fuse pull"? Is it as simple as it sounds (yanking a fuse for a minute and reinstalling it?)

Fuse pull is for the V8 not the V6.

Does the LLT automatically adjust its timings for higher octane then without doing what the V8 needs?

No, the LLT does not have a high octane map. It's calibrated to run on 87, and like all modern engines can reduce timing if it senses knock. But it's not going to sense higher octane and go to a more aggressive timing map. At most, it would avoid reducing the timing if the previous fuel you were running was causing some spark knock. In other words, premium would not increase your power, it may just not reduce it as much if the other regular fuel was causing some knock. Because it costs more, psychologically you will believe it is running much better.

Correct. The ECU's have octane spark tables and if they detect slight knock, they immediately switch to a lower octane spark table. There's nothing wrong with running it on 87 octane. The car was calibrated to run on a wide range of octane.

I run 87 in the winter.

Altitude will play a part with what you can run as well, air pressure is lower at higher altitudes, meaning the pressure in the cylinders is lower, too.

So by going up 5,000-plus feet in elevation, you've effectively lowered the compression ratio of your engine, and that means you can use lower octane fuel without making the engine ping.

Altitude where I live, 85 octane is the equivalent of 87 octane at sea level. It is why in mountainous areas you can only get 89 or near octane fuel.

It's one of the fringe benefits of living up here in the mountains. Along with shortness of breath, -30 degree weather etc.
