I'm sure he "couldent"..... fyi, Google is a commonly used tool for spell checking. Some HS English teachers should be taken out behind the school and shot....

I think it's easily acceptable that a stock V6 5th Gen could beat a 2000 Mustang GT. They're close in hp and even in weight, I just don't see it happening on a consistent enough basis to say it's matter of fact.

Which is what would make it a driver's race. Neither really has enough of a performance advantage(stock, though the mustang is close to 400 pounds lighter) over the other that the driver couldn't make up the difference.
I don't care if he runs faster if I can get him at the tree.
It's what makes it fun to go out there. Now if he's on his game I'd be hurting. Which is why I say take them to the track and stop asking if my v6 is faster. If you have to have someone tell you your car is faster rather than experience it what good is that?

I should stop reading this forum! I've never had this tough of a time trying to decide which car to buy...

camaro, mustang, camaro, mustang... It's sickening that I can't choose and go down and get my car! It's never been this difficult to get a car in the past, there really hasn't been 2 beautiful cars in the same price range with similar power like this.

brb going nuts... ;P

I love my Saleen Mustang, Pedders Suspension, Forgeline Wheels and Bridgestone RE-11s. It is a GREAT car. If I were buying a new car right now I would probably opt for the Camaro. Why? Out of the box the 5th Gen has better brakes. I would be happier with the Camaro bone stock longer than the Mustang bone stock. Modded I am walking in your shoes. It would be really hard to choose.

I can get a Mustang 5.0 premium with brembos & 3.73's or a 1SS, hurst shifter and boston sound system. Both are priced right in the same area for me. Can I live with the cloth in the camaro, will I regret not going with the leather mustang?

Too bad I can't afford both, life would be so much easier! lol

Take them both out for a good drive. Then follow your gut and get the one that you "feel" is the best for you. Either way you win...both are great cars. Good luck!!

On a simple equipment basis, the Mustang is the superior car in your case. With the premium Mustang you get Ford Sync, full ambient lighting, the Shaker 500 audio system, which is really nice. You also get a better gear ratio.

Now with the Camaro you get boston sound system speakers (the head unit is the same) and 4 corner brembos, vs only fronts on the Mustang.

In comparing a 1SS M6 and a Premium 5.0...I'm going to have to go with the 5.0 Its not really fair, as a 2SS is a better match.

Go to a junkyard(carfrom.us has like hundreds listed around the nation of 2010+ Camaros) and ask to buy the seat or something from a 1LT Camaro.... but would there be issues with the side airbag ?

2011 Mustang GT 5.0

Has anyone run the new 5.0. A lot of the tests and videos I see on YouTube have the SS losing. A friend of mine is bringing his new 5.0 home tonight.....
