My advice is to hold out. I just received an email from Onstar offering 6 months free, and then they sent me an additional one that offered a year free.

I feel left out. My expiration date came and went last week and I never got any special offers. Maybe if they get the Android app working with '10s I'll spring for the safe and sound plan, but until then I guess I'm going OnStar free.

Keep your head up. My free trial expired in November, and I just got the email.
I'm still waiting for the '10 compatibility too :(

I've had OnStar in each of my last two vehicles. I've never paid for it and always declined once the trial period ends. I've never, ever used it. Not even once.

Me too, but sadly that'll never happen again (or so I'm told).

When my Onstar expired about 18 months ago the best deal I could get at that time was $349/year. I kept the phone but dumped everything else. I don't drive the car in the winter so it really wasn't worth it to me.

I got mine the other day (I'm in Canada). $289/yr & $438/yr. I think I'll pass.

I spent 20 minutes on the phone with them the other and the best they could offer was $149 and $249 and the 3 months of free safe and secure, i passed on all of it. $200 is my max and I didn't want to beg. Will wait and see, mine expires on the 13th of this month.

I'm letting mine expire this month. Never used the free minutes and don't care for the "Crash Response" since I never drive to rural or remote areas.

You can buy a very nice GPS for less than 200. I will let my 6mo comp expire.
