Question Exhaust Question

As you all know there are a lot of choices out there in terms of exhaust systems for our cars. I just want your opinions on which exhaust system would be best for me. I've never bought an exhaust system before so I don't know where to start.

I would like:

-An exhaust that sounds deep and slightly 'gurgly'. Kinda like what you hear on some Dodge trucks when they roll off. I just want my muscle car to sound like it has muscle.

-I would like to hear my car idle while I'm sitting inside with windows up/down. Currently the stock exhaust is failing in this department. When me and my buddy ('10 mustang GT) go out for a ride I hear his car more than my own. Kinda frustrating.

-I do not want an exhaust system that is overbearingly loud and has a metallic-whinning sound. Its a hard noise to describe, but I had a 4th gen SS take off by me and it sounded like a loud robot was bitchin out on someone. It was not low pitch and it sounded like metallic-twanging/tingling (don't ask what that is).

-Fairly inexpensive. I realize nice things cost money but I don't want to pay for brand names when a lesser known brand puts out quality material for less $$.

-Exhaust that can work with either the GM ground effects or the Razzi v6 rear gfx piece. I currently have the GM gfx but may switch to the razzi sometime soon.

Thanks for the help.

You are going to get boat load of responsed but I think this system would satisfy all your needs. http://www.lmperformance.com/53570/119.html

I did it and it took me maybe an hour to do.

Omg that sounds amazing for only $400. That sounds just about like what I'm looking for.

A muffler delete is the same thing as the Loudmouth, but a muffler delete is a lot cheaper. Heres my muffler delete plus midpipes... and shorty headers (which really do not add any extra sound)

Remember to consider muffler and noise laws when choosing a system. Aggressive sound is cool but it could attract attention from LEO's. No mufflers are illegal in Ca.

Muffler delete is the way to go. Have the local muffler shop cut off the stock mufflers and install straight pipes. It is way cheaper that any other system and sounds awesome.

Heres a very good comparison video for the Flowmaster Hush Power axel back and the American Thunder Cat Back exhaust systems.

Both sound good, I went with American Thunder Cat Back,

Good hunting.

You can do this instead of the SLP loudmouth but SLP gives you 5in tips. I think is a much cleaner option than having muffler man do it. SLP is all stainless too. Also you cut out the stock mufflers and then you can always use them later. If muffler man does his thing they will cut off the tips on stock mufflers.

My first setup was a copy of the Magnaflow 2.5" Comp cat-back. This will be a good inexpensive start until you're ready for headers and a 3" exhaust.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64964

BTW: I ended up selling that exhaust to a guy with an LT and it worked perfect and sounded good.

This is the system I am looking at going with. I like the no drone aspect and it sounds good on my computer too. I do not know about the ground effects, you might e-mail them and ask.
