Truth. It gets pretty ridiculous sometimes. It does go both ways though unfortunately.

I used to own several Mustangs and recently a Lightning. I hang out on SVT/Ford sites still. Does that make me jealous of them too?

Certain people seem to have projection issues here. Those few who want absolutely no mention of any car other than the Camaro, and no members of the forum who own anything but a Camaro would seem to be the ones with regrets and seeking justification. It's interesting that for all the talk of Mustang drivers being jealous, most of the Mustang threads on this forum are started by Camaro owners. I am also on a Mustang forum, and there is very rarely any mention of the Camaro by the Mustang owners over there, so who is really obsessing?

Most of the Mustang owners here are not jealous. If I chose to, I could have a Camaro today (I actually joined when I was leaning toward getting a Camaro and then changed my mind afterward). We are not trolls, either. We are car guys who love an appreciate all types of fine cars, particularly American muscle cars. As car guys, we are simply interested in keeping our knowledge bases up to date on all types of cars, and in addition enjoy interacting with other car guys who share our interests whether they choose to own the same car we have or not. And when it comes to deciding between the next gen Mustang vs. the next gen Camaro, being in both places will help in making an informed decision.

I have no regrets about buying my Mustang over a Camaro. I got it because in my personal opinion, the car is more fun to drive. But, that is just my personal opinion, and just because your personal opinion is that the Camaro is better, that doesn't mean I don't want to be around you. It also doesn't mean that I don't apprciate the Camaro as a worthy competitor that deserves respect. I understand the rivalry thing, but why can't it be a friendly rivalry? After all, the Mustang and Camaro crowd have more in common with each other than the general population. Come on people, why all the hate?

(P.S. just to note, I like most of the people here. I am only really referring to that certain few).

Nope; not a bit jealous - not even a little.

It's fun to see what you-all talk about, and interesting to read up on what GM is brewing for the next Camaro.
Many of us are car enthusiasts, and not stuck on a single make or brand; right?
Besides my Mustangs (I have 2), I presently have 5 old English cars (2 '65 Cooper S Minis, '59 Morris Minor saloon, '60 Morris Traveller, and a '72 Lotus Europa Special). No, those aren't all running - I've had some in a basket for a long time. Over the years I've had lots of different cars, and likely will as long as I'm around.
I like to think of myself as a car enthusiast, but call me a jealous troll, if it makes you feel better.

What some Camaro owners don't understand, is that not every Mustang owner is jealous of them. Yeah, maybe some are. But some arent.

Just because they're on this forum doesn't mean that they sit on their computer all day wishing they never bought a Mustang and drooling over Camaro pictures all day. They're learning about the Camaro. If I were to go to a Mustang enthusiast site to learn more about the Mustang, would that make me a Mustang hater? No it would not.

The point is, at the end of the day, we're all car enthusiasts.

Much respect to a well-rounded auto enthusiast

This thread is a tribute to the playful rivalry that does (always has, always will) exist between Camaro/Mustang owners. It's healthy- keeps both breeds on their toes

I've had mine less than 24hrs and I've already had 5 'stangs trying to race, one of them was so desperate to race he purposely kept slowing down then speeding up to pass me while I maintained my 40mph. I'm still in break in period plus he was in a cobra and I'm in an LS, why embarass myself lol.

Here, here, brother. I couldn't agree with you more. All you say about the petty counter-jealousies that seem to arise ARE amongst the Camaro crowd. Mustang owners are a more tolerant breed, obviously. I even gave a passing thought to buying one; in my youth, I owned several Fords. All is cool.

STILL, YA' GOTTA ADMIT THAT THE CAMARO IS HELLA BEST!

I had an 05 GT and an 08 GT - you could take all the compliments combined that I received with those cars the entire time I had each - and it wouldnt equal the attention I got in the first 2 months with my Camaro. I had people racing across parking lots just to ask me questions, kids on the sidewalk doing the "We're not worthy" thing...I truly felt like the rock star that I shouldve been! I loved my Mustang - when it was the only game in town, but now, looks wise - it doesnt exist next to the Camaro or Challenger. Small looking, fem-botted rear end. Pass.

personally don't consider a v6 a 'muscle car', nor any other car released after '70 for that matter. I wouldn't call a Nissan GTR nor Veyron muscle cars, either..I think the term should be reserved for those respected vintage rides(muscle car era), not for current high performance cars..
