Good buy?
I would be using NADA etc. to see what the value is on a used car. That and a GOOD look at the car. Older than a 5 yrs or so, I like to see an oil analysis done, but that's just me. Take your time, there's some sweet deals to be found.

... I could see you in a Buick GS formerly owned by an elderly retired gentleman that kept meticulous maintenance records.

I'm guessing he already knew of every Buick for sale within a 100 mile radius

I remember looking for those 'deals' as a young man. My heart always skipped a beat when an elderly man answered the phone and said he was the original owner.

Never buy a used car with aftermarket wheels, stereo, or ever driven by a teen.

Personal opinions only!

With the Mustang Boss's available, should a SSX (Z28) be built?

Remember personal opinions only!

Personal opinion? Yes.

But that's easy to say given I probably wouldn't buy it. :(

There is really no comparison between a caged purpose built track car and a BOSS 302. The Nickey built Road Race has already been track tested. A BOSS 302 won't keep up

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ckey+road+race

The Lingenfelter powered 600HP-LPE is even more ridiculous. The BOSS 302 would blow a gasket chasing this 5th Gen.

As for production of the SSX built by Pratt Miller, the business case would be a tough sell at a high price point. My guess is GM will sell bodies in white to Pratt and Miller or any other company that wants to build a track car. GM makes a real profit selling production Camaros. Enthusiasts like us can modify them any way we choose with companies like Nickey, Lingenfleter or in our own garages.

Still looking. Regals are hard to come by right now, seems like everyone's holding on to them.

Not the SSX. A purpose built race car is an impossible sell to the general public.

Now, a well thought out car, with minimal creature comforts, that handles like it's on rails, goes like a scalded cat, and won't have you pissing blood after driving it 500 miles without a kidney belt, yes.

ask number3 how much he'd take for his roadster

If you're not desperate for wheels, take your time and don't fall in love with a particular car (in case it don't work out) There are deals out there.

Patience, grasshopper. (anyone?)
