Unhappy Remote Starter stopped working after BBK install?!

So my car has 712 miles on it and I just got my headers and cats on today, remote starter worked once after, and now all I get is a click. Afraid that the dealer will void my warranty cuz of the headers and not fix it. Did anyone else have this problem??

are you sure you are doing it right? I had some problem after I tuned my Car, but then, worked again when I started the car, and turned it off.

Try that. and Geezus, 712 miles? not even broken in and you modded headers? lol.

Yeah I thought it was that at first because I know you have to start it then lock it twice with the button and then it works. Tried it like ten times in and out of the car...just a click....you think the dealer won't fix it under warranty cuz of the headers?

Yeah 712...lol....I got sucked into the C5 forum! haha

lol.............. well technically, the headers shouldn't have screwed up your remote starter... but if it's a nice dealership they would fix it i guess.

However, don't get your hopes up... I just had a thought though, perhaps the CEL is causing it from starting.

I dunno, it works manually...I'll stop by the dealership tomorrow and they've been real nice so far..we'll see.

According to the manual, if you have a CEL, the remote start function won't work.

Ya, it's been said numerous times on the site. If you have a CEL, your remote start will not function.

Unfortunately, it's unavoidable with LT Headers.

Actually, not every CEL will disable it, but an emission control system malfunction (e.g. O2 sensor malfunction) is one of the conditions that will (pg 1-6). Did you tune out the O2 sensors you lost with LT headers?

If you can clear the CEL, your remote start should become functional again.

I swear I wasn't trying to give you a ration by citing the manual. I just thought you might want to verify it for yourself.

Sometimes I'm not a very reliable source of information.
