Trans output shaft/Driveshaft failure, your opinion is needed thanks

First off my driveshaft has had a vibration for a while now, but only when it had been sitting for multiple days. My local dealer said there was no problem with the parts, but friday night the driveshaft finally gave out. My dealership is now saying that they will not cover the parts under warranty because they have pics of the car on a race track and that the car has been abused, which is impossible because my car has never seen a track.

My local dealership is stating that there are no known issues of the driveshaft failing. I would like to see roughly how many camaro ss owners have had the issue. Thanks for taking the time to read my thread and any info would be great, Thanks

There have been no drive shaft failures that I know of.

OP: did your driveshaft or output shaft fail? Two different things. If the output shaft failed, yes, it's a known issue.

As far as your dealer goes, they suck, find a new one. But before you do, tell them you'd like to see the Pictures of YOUR car on the track. It must be obvious that it's yours, i.e. visible plate.

I think they are full of their own

An honest dealer would first know about and explain the output shaft issue. Second not treat you so poorly about warranty work.

I would have to Agree with Jrhaus76, the only failures we have seen are the Trans output shaft and bent/broken bolts in the Guibo joint, some have had issues with the center spline twisting but we have not seen one break yet. As for running at the track i don't believe this would make a difference or as much as a difference as having upgraded parts and tune on the car. if you get nowhere with them i would be willing to help out on one of our Driveshafts if your intrested.....

this one is a nice option

What failed the drive shaft or the tranny output shaft? The output shaft is an known issue in low vin #s. As far as the driveshaft go's, I have bent 3 sets of of front bolts and one came completely on done. Replaced it with a DSS one piece aluminum driveshaft.

the driveshaft is what actually failed, but once before one of the guibo joint bolts broke and bent the metal around the bolt, all the dealer did was replace the bolt and send me on my way. Ever since then the car has vibrated when the tranny is cold, once it warmed up the vibration went away. the dealer of course said this is not a problem.

I was going to order a ZL1 through them but it looks like I will be giving my money to another dealer instead.

Sounds like a good plan, make sure you rub there nose in it, by telling them about your ZL-1 purchase.
