so would I be better off painting my heritage grille with this or satin black spray paint?

Most likely this stuff. It sticks to anything. I plan on spraying my heritage grill with it when it comes in.

Wow, that looks great... I'd love to do this seeing I've got five cans of it, but I'm still not sure how I would mask off the tire where it meets the rim.... Id like to get the plastidip in that channel to fully cover the rim, but I'd hate to get it pooled up where it meets the tire, For future tire changing.

How long did this take to do? Start to finish?

Couldn't you just tape off as much of the tire as you can and even if you get a little on the tire it should scrape off? Just guessing at that.

You can also use 5x7 or 3x5 place cards around the edge of the rim and just mask off the rest of the tire...

A couple hours I would guess. I mean I did it at my shop so I took the front beads off and taped and sprayed 1 coat then did some stuff around my shop then sprayed and did more work and so on until I had 4 good coats with time to dry in between. Honestly dont worry about future tire changes. Take the rims to a tire place have them pop the front bead off and take them home tape the tire off and spray them. The coating will come off when you get new tires put on. When the tire slides over the lip of the rim its going to take the coating with it. So when you get new tires have them seat the beads and balance then pop the front bead off redo the plastidip and spray tire and rim down with soapy water and fill with air to pop the front bead back on. Thats what I do but with my own machine. Its so cheap dont worry about 15-20k miles from now. If you dont want the front bead taken off just get notecards like suggested above.

This is so cool. Great alternative to expensive powder coating.

Question . . . Can you use notecards, tape off the wheels, mask off the rotors (and rest of behine the tire) and mask off the rest of the car (really well) so you don't have to take the wheels or lugs off? I saw an episode of West Coast Customs where they did it to an armored car for Virgin Gaming. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

I don't see why not but I wouldn't risk it. Its way easier to.pull the rims off the car. If yo don't have the equipment find a local car forum and borrow the stuff for a 12 pack.
Plus if you do them on the when u need to pull the wheels off they will ne ruined. Plus nobody will want to.mess with the car with everything painted. They wont want to be responsible for making the paint peel.

What Do you guys think I about using white plasti dip spray on the body of the car?

I have a black 1ss and I've been dying to put on it this nice stripe pattern that I came up with. But tryin to do it with vinyl is turning out to be a pain in the ass. I'm thinking it'd be much easier to tape the stripe pattern on to the car with painters tape and then spray it with plasti dip.

Do you guys think it would screw up the paint when it came time to take the plasti dip stripes off the car?
