Most of the Boss's were spoken for so it might show in a single months sales.

The '13 GT500/SVT Cobra will adopt the suspension shown above. Looks like Goodyear is out, Pirelli is in...

Dang what a little firecracker they are. It's a shame that ford is making them almost impossible to purchase.

I know, but Ford has probably sold 100,000 Boss 302 intakes in the last 4 weeks... I seen the charts for the Boss intake, It is no joke... I would have loved to get my hands on one of these.

I really can't understand the logic behind what they are doing. I see GT500's sitting on lots with big discounts and they turn around and build a cheaper car that outperforms the GT500 and don't let anyone but the elite purchase them. Great recipe to keep your sales behind the camaro don't you think.

Some of the tests of the 2011 GT you could hear it blow the tires off going into 4th.

I know of a couple of dealers near me with the new Boss 302, each asking $47k, that is not an "elite" pricing IMHO. Any Joe can walk in and buy these things. The Laguna Seca Boss is another matter though.
Base 2011 GT500 is roughly $49k but you'd be lucky to find a base model anywhere. GT500 owners will tell you, a set of better tires is the ONLY thing the GT500 needs to put the 302 behind in a straight line.

The GT500 is a drag racers dream, forged internals, supercharger and a live rear axle. You put drag radials/slicks on a GT500 and the Boss is history. The GT500 is a test mule for alot of Mustang's future tech, it showcases new technologies and gets people on the lot to look at it. The GT500 sits in a category where I highly doubt Ford makes a large profit from. Specialty cars that perform are for elite car owners, be it a collector, racer or a tuner/modder. Ford makes alot of money in the aftermarket and has alot of third party aftermarket support.

The GT500's sell, the Boss will sell the Mustang will sell... but don't expect Ford to all of the sudden take a sales lead month over month. This is an 7 year old car and it will sell as such. This is why Ford is making some updates in the final year... just to sustain sales until the 2014 come out. Ford made alot of money on the S197 Mustang since 2005 and any changes to the body are cheaper to manufacture now... If Ford happens to win a month or so over the next year, then there is something wrong with the pony car market and desperately needs a refresh.

The Boss is right on top of the GT500 right now and that has alot to do with suspension and tires... The 2013 SVT Mustang will be different...

Its the '60s all over again, the 05s-'08s played the role of the '64-'66s (enter Shelby in 66)
the 10s-12s' were the 67s'-69' (enter the Boss)
13' plays the 1970, only one MY that used this front fascia and the Boss sends the Shelby home...
Sales were getting pretty bad after 1968 too... Everyone that wanted a Mustang either bought one new or bought one used.. but everyone had one. Same as the S197, 750,000 Mustangs were sold new, most of them were eventually sold to another owner. Everyone has had an S197 Mustang... Victim of their own success, as sales go at least.. aftermarket has become an S197 empire.

I know the pricing is good on these cars. That was my point. But if you can get one where you live then you should buy one. I've been trying to get one and I keep getting the' no chance' from every dealer. I got offered three very good deals on GT500's though that are just sitting. I just think that overhaul the boss is more the type of car that fits my style. The GT500's are more for people that need all the goodies and that's not me. I just like speed and handling. I wanted to try one to hold me over until the ZL1 comes out. Hell come to think of it, if it's more geared toward the GT500 maybe it won't fit my style either. I just have the feeling that GM is going to make this thing handle though. The 620HP that is coming on the next SVT, GT500 or whatever they're going to called won't mean a hill of beans if they don't get traction into it. I watch 2010 and 2011 GT500s run slower than expected every week at the track do to the fact that they just can't get off the line. What will adding almost 100Hp do for that?

Yeah, traction has always been an issue for a stock GT500. Most 500 owners don't care about Goodyears or SVT wheels so Weld Racing/Bogart and some Hoosier/MT's or 555's is what most get into. Ford is going to do the SVT crowd a solid though, Ford Racing catalog parts are starting to find their way to showroom cars now (started with the Raptor). I had heard that the Cobra Jet damps and springs are being used for traction. Most likely why the GT500 spy photo was dropped so low, it lowers ride height front 1.9", rear 2.5". Explains the slammed look.
the M-18000-CJ and M-5300-Q. I think the current setup resembles the FR500 stuff but I would need a GT500 pro to answer that.
