Status 03/19/2011 - (4800) Rail ramp unload. Vehicle has been unloaded from train.

The massive train yard is less then 16 miles from me.

I have a a question on the process for dealer allocation. What drives allocation and how does it change? I have an order in, and the dealer is telling me "The vehicle is ordered we are just waiting to receive our allocation to fill it. That will come to us sometime in the next four weeks." I don't mind waiting, but I'm wondering how the allocation process works and how predictable it is/isn't.
