There is no way to see if I have been "skipped", correct?

BTW: I am #1 out of 2 at the dealership - we only have 4 allocated.

You would have to ask your dealer and they will tell you if you were skipped due to the constraint on the hurst shifter.

But what you say doesn't make sense. You can't be 1 of 2 if your dealer has a total of 4 cars allocated...

you would be 1 of 4... Clarify please.

You basically have to make a decision, remove the hurst RPO to get your maro faster (if you really are #1 at the dealer) or wait untill the constraint is lifted and get it later.

Just went down stairs - took off Hurst Shifter VYV

We have a total of 4 allocated to our dealership and only 2 pre-sold orders.
I am #1 of the two that are pre-sold.

Obviously, GM doesn't want to comment on here concerning this V6 constraint issue.
I think we need to take it on up the line and contact GM directly.
The squeaky wheel gets the V6.

I don't know that GM has anything More to say. Thier position is obviously that the dealers should get cars first... That is their offical stance. Not that we have to like it.

I'm so very confused reading all of the information on this wonderful site. Trying to keep speculation and facts seperate is often times an exercise in futility. Consider me one in the column that is disappointed w/ the V6 constraint news. I ordered my black 2LT from my MD dealer on 10/13 and I believe I was either 2 or 3 in an allocation of 9 or so. Don't really remember.

In any event if being a fan of this wonderful vehicle and clamoring for any/all available info since....I dunno....pre Transformers??....if this classifies me as an enthusiast then you'd get no argument from me. As 'patient' as I've been I suspect that I will continue to be--there's really no other choice in my estimation. But I do feel I've 'earned' the right to be slightly miffed that GM is delaying my marketing efforts. There are a more than a few potential Mustang converts that need only see my gorgeous baby one time before their resolve crumbles.

Finally my question/concern/curiosity/baseless speculation or what have you--there seemed to be some indication that if ones number came due and there was a constraint they would miss out for the dealer's initial consensus, thus in effect, forfeiting their place in line. This would necessitate waiting for a new dealer allocation later in the year.

After lurking on this site I know just enough information to be dangerous but probably not quite enough venacular to make it sound like I know what I'm talking about!

V6 on hold

Why not wait til the V6 arrives at the dealer and buy that one?
I dont think the dealer will tell you he cant sell that V6 if you want it.

Ok, here's the short answer to your situation. You will maintain your place in line where other V6 orders are concerned. But, Any V8 preorders that are not constrained will be moved ahead of you until your constraint is lifted. Which will be after the dealers get their V6's. So, in general you will keep your place in line as part of the dealer's original allocation for presold orders as it relates to V6's.

Make sense?

I cancelled my order today, I have emailed my salesman once or twice a month since ordering and he is very short and pissy with me. I decided that I don't need to be treated that way, customer service is huge. He also for the very first time said fall would be the very earliest I could be looking for delivery. Bummed out now, but at least he won't get my sale

Wouldn't that completely defeat the purpose of GM giving each dealer a car to be able to attract orders?

Besides, not all of us that want a v6 want it in silver. I know I sure don't.

I know for a fact that many dealers have asked us to build them a 'stock' car so that they can have a "Camaro Celebration" with their local Camaro clubs. And -- it's no surprise that most of these cars will be Silver -- because, you see -- the Silver Concept blew people away --even people who would never normally consider a Camaro as their 'car of choice' -- and the production car is a dead ringer to the concept --......

I for one understand why GM is getting V6 Camaro's to the dealers showrooms. Most people won't by a car sight un-seen, but most of the members of this forum are not like most people. My wife thinks I'm a bit crazy for buying a car I have never sat in since I am 6'6", 280lbs. But thanks to Camaro5, I have no worries.
Yeah I am bummed about having to wait, but since I am 7 or 9 allocated at my dealer, I already expected to wait, so i am sure that the V6 constraint will be lifted by the time it's my turn anyway, heck I might still get my car before allotment #6 gets his (since 5 of the 7 are V8, and my dealer is only getting 1 or 2 a month.
I just can't wait to one of the first in my area driving it around.

But I totally understand cancelling you order if the dealer is a jerk or blowwing you off (I did the exact same thing in a few months ago).
