Window Tint Ticket - Edmonton, AB

Well I guess I had it coming, I was pulled over into a parking lot tonight and given a window tint ticket. I wasn't speeding or anything, they had a big operation goin on and they saw the windows and pulled me in. Then the guy tossed another ticket on for my brake light "covers". It's still snowing, but I guess it is spring and Ticket Blitz Moneygrab season.

He said I can remove it or keep getting tickets. If he personally gets me again he will give some "order to remove" and I will have 1 week to remove or recieve more fines and 4 demerits.

I wonder if I should leave it on or just get the front window tint removed and pull off the covers..........the window tint was $115 and $57 for the brake lights.

That sucks a**! Really strict on tint in VA too. I went with what's allowed legally. I would take covers off for a bit, then put back on. You know that guy will be looking for you.

well blutch, my daughter got pulled over in my old cobalt ss in EDM.,
and given a $57 tint ticket. its amazing that he threatened to give her an
exhaust fine.....i detuned and put factory exhaust back on it.
he claimed she had "widened exhaust".
she was driving her grandma home and was sitting at a red light.
blutch, its only money, and if you cant afford it, then comply with the law,
wheather you agree with the bs laws or not.

sounds like they are on one of their money-making blitzes...that sucks....
Heard of someone the other day who got stopped and ticketed for their tint....probably the same checkpoint.

I got ticketed for my tint when I had my Charger....i didn't remove it. Had the car 3 years only got stopped once....and it was one of those "pull you over into a parking lot" situations.
I've been sitting beside cruisers in traffic when i've had tinted windows and they don't seem to care.

bummer bluch
I've had tint on several cars/trucks and never a problem. And like you the 30-35% on side windows and 15% on the rears. Like everyone is saying quota time for the coppers ball lol

Any tint past the "B" post, illegal in Alberta.

Just remember there will be 30 plus going down the highway together and I'm sure they'd love a reason to grab us all.

Just suck it up and pay your fine in "small" change,Thats a good time to clean the piggy bank out of pennys, dimes and nickels and single dollar bills and you Always approach a checkpoint with tinted windows down from now on.
