Got My first (Speeding) Ticket.... - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

While I was coming home from school a cop clocked at 50mph on his gun in a 40 zone. Pretty much I was following a school bus which was doing about 35mph and decided to pass it on the right so I did and the road makes a J shaped turn so I began to slow and as I care around the bend my radar went off and I slowed down from about 55 to the center turning lane to turn into my neighborhood. What I don't get is how I got a ticket for 50mph when I was already slowing down and the cop didn't see me till I was in the center lane doing less than 5mph. Is it possible the radar locked me around the bend through traffic? Or he got the wrong car since when I was entering the middle lane the car next to me was do definitely more than 40mph? On the ticket it says he had a radar to get me, but I don't see how he got me? Any ideas what happened?

If the road bends he probably can get a lock on you from a spot where you can't see him.

There is a wall though thats made out of stone since there are houses on each side. Can it go through that?

Nah, it can't penetrate stone. The spread of the beam must've been wide enough as it was to detect you.

Might not have liked the idea of you passing a school bus..they don't have much tolerance for stuff like that..

He was on Vance Jackson by Casa Bella and I was on Vance Jackson between Casbury and Sagail Place when he saw and by that time I was below 35mph slowing down to turn on Ashton Audrey. And the place I went 50 was at DeZevala and Vance Jackson passing the bus. Could he have gotten me from there?

All can say is patience grasshopper. Just pretend you are an old fart like me , take time to enjoy the scenery and the sound of your engine going a little slower.

Oh well I guess I'll just go to court and pay $ 170, which isn't that bad compared to other peoples' tickets.
