Go look at the thread I posted in General Automotive. Doesn't completely show off the car, but shows some details.

It looks VERY aggressive so far.

So you are saying, "just a major improvement in handling over an SS?"

I get around.................or at least the philosophy does

Ha!! I don't throw bones. Can't acknowledge the existence or lack thereof any bones.

Nice car, but what are your thoughts?

Yes, a super time vortex will form and take us all back to 1969 where there WAS a Z/28 and nobody bitched about it being too heavy. LOL
I am well aware the 5th gen is a heavy car, and I am ok with that. I also know the ZL1 is one amazing car an be a beast but its not for me right now. A Z28 is the car most of us grow up drooling over, it was a daily driver track car, it was the reason many hardworking blue collar guys worked extra hours to have. I guess it was just something magical to a bunch of us and its sucks that we have yet to have that car back in the lineup.

I'm assuming you are talking about 67 through 69. I sure don't look back at any Z28 I could get in high school or later as being anything close to a track car. I'm now talking 77 through 2002 and I don't recall anything much more than an appearance package or maybe a bit of better handling chassis tuning.

Someone correct me if there was more hardware to back up the badge in those years, but I never looked at any of the Z28s in those years as track cars.

But I don't disagree with the wish list. I'd frankly love to see a Camaro SSX available. I like that a LOT. Saw it in person and the flat white paint job with the black wheels and Carbon Fiber was quite nice. It was all business and looked the part.

Hmmmm http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...merica-101692/

Rumors from down under say the VE chassis will be almost unchanged for the next generation Holden Commodore with all new sheet metal on top. The changes in the chassis would be focused on weight reduction in the sub-frames and arms.

I was day dreaming and joking with Centaur. Do dreams come true?

Yes 67-69. That's what the 5Gen is based on correct? And yes I do like the SSX concept, however it is not a street car from what I hear.
Number 3 would you personally like to see a Boss competitor made by GM?

Chevrolet does make the a 5th Gen club racer available as a body in white with a great selection of crate motors. Having a car built at Pratt and resold through Chevrolet doesn't make business sense. The more profitable avenue for Chevrolet and GM is to sell the SS and let the customer build what they want from a production car.

The 5th gen design is inspired by the first generation primarily...with cues coming from other Camaro generations as well as jet fighters...it's not "based" on any previous Camaro generation, though...

Not really....I'm not saying one of us is right or wrong....but this was the source of the Z28/ZL1 debate...and the Z28/SS debate...Chevy didn't put nearly as much stress on the first-gen formula when building this new chapter in Camaro history as people would like to think....
