New LS owner 500 miles and already a ticking...

Hey everyone, new LS owner here (brought her home from Chicago to Cleveland on Wednesday) and am in LOVE! Really wanted an SS but my insurance was $1500 for 6months vs $550 so I couldn't swing it. Anyways, I'm a very worrysome person as it is, and today when I was pulling my baby into the garage I opened the door prior to turning the car off and happened to have the radio all the way down and heard a audible ticking noise, it sounded some what like the following, it followed a very steady beat to, and didn't stray off the path of that rhythm... Am I just freaking out or is this common? Thanks to everyone in advance!

Tskk ... Tskk ... Tskk ... , it's not a knock, but a steady ticking noise... Is this common? I'm such a worrysome person and this already has me freaking out! The dealer I bought it from was in Chicago, if I took it to a dealer out here to have them listen to it would I get charged as it's a brand new car under warranty?

Thanks!

You are good man enjoy the car. The noise you are hearing is the natural sound of your Direct Injected v6. No worries bro!!! Congrats on your car!

Does it get worse with higher RPMs between 1500-2000/ 3500-4000 and letting off the gas pedal? If so, see this thread:

Normal noise. I wouldn't worry. My traverse makes the same noise from day one and it now has around 6,000 miles on it. Same motor as your LS

The only time you can hear the ticking is at idle standing outside the car. I have never heard it while sitting in the car. It sounds like a timex What is interesting is the pattern is almost like every second a tick at idle. Considering some says it is the injectors which are firing 6 x say 700 rpms or 4200 times per minute or 70 times per second I am not exactly sure that it is the injectors...maybe the fuel pressure regulator????
