Just a follow up. They took my car in Wednesday and said they were going to start looking into the engine. I got a call shortly after and they said Gm told them to change out the valve seats first. They finished the car last night and I am to pick it up this morning. I am than suppose to drive it for a while and bring it in again. If more oil is lost, they will do the pistons and rings. I asked if I could get the clutch done if they do the pistons and I was told that they do not take the engine out of the car to do the piston and ring change??? Is that a little strange. I might be used to the old cars but the seems like a lot more hassle to leave it in the car.
Also, It looks like about 5 1/2 quarts of oil was burned over the last 3-4 thousand miles in my car. What damage will this do to the plugs, cylinders, sensors, converter, exhaust, etc....

Is yours the LS3 or L99 and what was their reasoning for doing valve seats first?
