IMO after releasing the concept with 400hp a LOT of fans would be disappointed if it comes with less than that (in the base V8 Mustang GT competitor).

They've set the bar at 400. It shouldn't be any less.

^Yeah I'd be very surprised if it is. But hey, after driving around in Saab 9-5 that had 192 hp to start with (probably down a bit now) for several years now even 350 hp will seem like a rocket booster in comparison

I want a 500HP option. :P BUT I'll settle for no less than 350HP. Oh and if they do the interior like that "tiger stripe" crap they have in the 4th gens....I'll still buy it, just change the cloth. Like what I have to do in my Camaro, I HATE the cloth pattern, I just needa find me a leather interior somewhere...

I would greatly appreciate some re-assurance from the more knowledgeable members here on the real world reliability of AFM:
That engine made it on the top 10 worst engines ever. The AFM is proven to work. The trucks/tahoes have them. The Impala SS has it and it tells you when it is engaged (4 and 8 cylinders both). I hope the camaro has the same display option. Definitely not a deal breaker for me though.

they price better not be out of the ball park. it would kill me to see the camaro i want priced in a totally different bracket than the mustang. i am sure that the hp rating will be well over 350, so that is not bothering me that much just price for now.

My deal breaker would be if it drives like a big car. When I test drove a Charger R/T, I was sorely dissapointed with how it drove. It had enough HP to be somewhat fast, but it drove like a boat. I want a Camaro that's FAST and AGILE.

They dont even have a V-8 with less than 400 HP to put in it so it will probably be the LS3. That will be claimed to be detuned to 400 HP but we all know GM does this for paper purposes. They cant have any car listed with more power than the vette. Or it will be a GEN V motor. The only thing I would worry about is them pulling a GTO on us and the first year getting the LS3 then the second year getting the GEN V motor.

Oh, but they can have a car with more power than the vette...And they've said it wasn't a worry.

I haven't heard that the LS3 will be 'detuned'...but as for other possible V8, have you heard of the L76? Currently it's in the G8. Just thinking aloud.

what about the L92?
as far as a "detuned" version from the vette, its almost guaranteed, unless the vette comes out the door with a s/c (which has been rumored for the upper level vette). the camaro has had a 40yr long history of getting a detuned version of the vette motor. tho that is easily taken care of with headers, intake and a tune-up. lol
