Of course not - so we celebrate 45 years of "Performance-American Style" - Camaros have been providing driving excitement for 45 years.......
Folks, think of what Scott is saying and look at the product. The badging says 45th. 45 years of Camaro,...45th year that Camaro's have roamed the Earth. It's more of a tribute than an anniversary model in my estimation. This model is visibly different from the other "Anniversary" issues. It dosen't loudly say anniversary anywhere. It incorporates the traditional red, white and blue styling cues from it's predecessors in the 45th badges. It is done very tastefully, quietly and uniquely I might ad..and the red and blue seat stitching is an excellent touch. The wheels are outstanding and will be sought after by some at the GM parts counter I would bet. Black granite will sparkle like gem stone. The 45 dual color stripe is thinking outside of the box for sure. Chevy didn't play if safe with the 45 hood and deck stripe, the design is forward thinking and is a fresh approach. Scott said earlier something to the effect that at first 50% will love it, 50% will hate it, and 85% of those who hated it initially will love it in 6 months. I tend to believe in this line of thought as well. This model will look totally different in person and make believers out of nay sayers. I think it was smartly done and I for one can't wait to see it up close in person. I hope it's gonna be at NYC with the ZL1 next week!

I just noticed the LFX has integrated exhaust manifolds. No headers for the LFX!

The 2012 model year will begin production in July on the 18th. About 6-8 weeks later they can be expected to show up at dealership lots. Not all the dealership will get them all at the same time so I would suggest checking around to see which dealers have their orders in for the vehicle when ordering becomes available. Also we will not know pricing information until we get closer to the production date. I hope this information helps you.

Thanks for the info, very informative. Are you sure you don't want to talk about the iPod instead?

Just as a reminder for all the requested extra tech and such. You guys should remember that we're already heavy as it is and everything that's added does add mass. So, the more and more you pile in to this car, the more and more complex it gets with secondary support systems for those systems, then mounting points, brackets, casing, etc... All that little bit starts add on weight.. So, somewhere, one has to draw a line -- I don't always agree with where GM has drawn it.. but, I understand that some times, sacrifices have to made in one area to support another.

Would you want a 5000 lb Camaro?

Like has been said before.. This is muscle car. Not a luxury car. GM has done really well giving us all these Lux and Touring options.. but, again.. the more you add.. the more the $$ and weight go up.

Anyone else a little confused as to why they did a 45th Anniversary Edition of the Camaro and not wait 5 years later to do a 50th?

I guess with the way gas prices are going there might not be a 50th though

they will do a 50th for sure... but they want to capitalize on the crazy momentum of the camaro right now. and why not the car is selling great and anything that GM can do to make it that much more they will do

The first hilarious part about this post is that there aren't ANY Buicks or Impalas that use that steering wheel.

The second hilarious part about this post is that the only "big boat ride" Buick has left is the Lucerne, which is going away after this model year, and again, it doesn't use the 2012 Camaro's steering wheel.
