First off, just blanket the area with lots of towels...your washing machine is your friend!

Second, if there's a will there's a way. My male dog is coming in at 70 lbs and rides shotgun with me all the time.

While my female Bullmastiff is coming in around 115 lbs right now and hasn't ridden in my 2010 yet, the fact is I don't foresee much of a problem. They are both used to riding in cars. So when I take them together in the Trans Am or Grand Prix, they're fine. She usually will just lay down across the seats and wait for us to get to where we're going.

It's your car do what you want who cares what others have to say they are not making your car payments.

Sorry but I have to say this; regardless of whether you can deal with dog-slob, scratches or puke in your car, you really have to buckle your dog up if you are going to let it ride with you. There are some very simple and cheap harnesses that connect straight to the seat belt, and THEY WILL SAVE YOUR DOGS LIFE.

If you are stationary and somebody rear ends you at 20mph, your dog is going to either smack straight into the back of your seat and break its neck, or worse, fly straight past and go through the windscreen.

Or, they hit YOU and break YOUR neck.

I have been in a very minor accident with both my dogs in the backseat. If they were not buckled up, both would have been killed. No insurance policy is going to mend your heart if your faithful friend dies on a quick trip to the shops just because you couldn't be bothered to harness them up .....

Gotta agree with you there. ha!

Can't find a pic of my GSD in the Camaro. He usually lays down in my other vehicles, but in the Camaro, he sits up, laying against the side and looking out the little window in the back. I've only had him in there on a few road trips where I wanted to take the Camaro. People drive by, then double take when they see his face in that little window! If I had leather interior, it would be fine, but I don't enjoy getting his hair off the cloth, and even with a blanket down, that will happen.

I don't take him in the Vette often, either, but he does perfectly fine in there, and again, causes double takes when people look over and see him.
