Question SS Ride / Suspension

I have a question, hope u guys can help. About a month ago, I picked up a 2011 2SS RS. We have a 2010 Synergy Green LT, and the ride is like butter. I love the power of the SS, but it feels like a very rough ride, with what feels like wheel hop. Wheel balance, maybe??? But we also feel every little crack in the roadway.
Does anyone know if there is a difference in suspensions between the SS & LT. I have an appointment on Fri. at dealer to check the car out.
Any comments / guidance would be appreciated, thanks

I know that the SS has different springs that gives a ride height one inch lower than the V6 cars, but I've never been in an SS to know the ride quality. Generally, cars with low ride heights need stiffer springs, which have a harsher ride. Hope this helps.

Yes the SS models have a performance suspension. I highly doubt there is anything wrong with the suspension, youre just used to the ride quality of the LT. Nonetheless it doesnt hurt to get checked out!

Its just performance suspension. I updated the springs and sways on my 2LT along with low profile tires and it rides MUCH more rigid and stiff. I also feel a lot more in the road.

I've always driven 4X4 pickups. Quite an eye opener when I drive my car now. My trucks ride 50 times smoother. With the car, I feel like I can count every gravel I run over.

Still love it.

Good point. I traded in a 2008 Yukon Denali for the 2011. Funny thing was, we test drove a different 2SS coupe, as well as a vert. Both of those seemed to have a smoother ride... Hopefully something can be adjusted. My wife has a history of back probs, so ride quality is #1. She owns the Synergy, and ride was a big purchase point with her. We took an overnight ride to Central PA, and she was in such pain from the rough ride !!! We were really disappointed. This was out 1st long road trip with the car, and I felt really bad that she couldn't enjoy the ride...

The LT has a F2 suspension and the SS a F3 suspension. The F3 is a performance suspension, also the SS has a staggered tire and wheel setup. With a staggered setup the car will follow all the little ruts and lines in the road. On the plus side you will get use to it after awhile.

For us on long trips we take the LT, because the ride is softer than the SS ...

My Wife and I both agree that the ride quality in our 2010 SS is as good or better than in her 2008 Accord EXL. Plus it's about a bazillion times better than how my 89 IROC rode. Holy crap that was a rough ride...

I actually think my 2011 SS rides too smooth. Ride quality perception is different for everyone. It's based on what kind of cars you've owned in the past and what you expect out of a car.

Agree!!! Don't get me wrong, smooth is great...if your driving a Cadillac but for a 400 plus HP muscle car I personally think the ride quality is to soft.
To start my "suspension upgrade" I am starting with trailing arms and subframe bushing in a few weeks to start on my quest for a more sports car like ride with more upgrades to fallow.

Once I get my SS above 75 it glides across the road. Smoothest car I've ever driven on the freeway.

I agree 100%. It does seem almost as if I am driving a luxury car. I think that along with the automatic transmission and a fairly quiet stock exhaust makes the car seem almost tame. Very solid feeling though. I'm comparing the ride to my 2010 Mustang which is a stick and has a tendency to feel very light and due to the lighter weight and live rear axle tends to move around a lot more on the road.
