Here's roughly how a bolt-on Camaro will fare against a stock Z06

Keep in mind DA was like 4000+ at this high elevation so times are "slow" for both cars.

Camaro gets out much better leaving the line but as you see, the Z06 pulls it hard once it has traction.

Z06 would smoke you.

Aerodynamics at higher speeds own camaros.

You would probably need somewhere over 500 at the wheel to beat a z06. Those cars are infamous for taking out other cars with higher hp.

If you have not driven a Z06 and think your Camaro has a shot, you owe it to yourself to drive one. I think you will get an idea of what you are up against. While not unbeatable, C6Z's have made their reputation by beating some very fast cars.

Just to show a power to weight difference of the C6Z vs an 03 KB Cobra. (03 Cobra coupes weigh in at around 3680lbs. an M6 2010 LS3 is about 3891lbs. both have Manual 6spds with the gearing and torque advantage leaning towards the 03 cobra) BTW this is a KB Cobra. well over 575whp and 550wtq!!

C6Z is a LIGHT bolt-on car. With full exhaust CAI and tune

You would get smoked by the C6Z06 @ your power level.

FYI Stock untuned C6Z's dyno around 440whp 435wtq. A tune alone they see about 460whp

Better head on down to the dealership then......

By the way I have the same cobra setup as above and I will kill your SS with it. How do I know? Cause I own both and have lost in my SS to my own cobra, Lmfao!

I wish that guy set the spread in vegas!! I would think a 550whp 2010 SS would be close to a STOCK C6Z

Ya I agree with that.

Id like to see how a stout H/C LS3 SS would do against a stock c6z. I would probably still say zo6 by a bit.

The C6Z is a 3100 lb car with a 7.0L engine....kind if a good combo lol.

We used to use the old formula of every 100 lbs in weight reduction equals about a 1/10th in et for the qtr. Very basic and doesn't take aero, traction or other factors but it was always a good baseline. Assuming that, the Vette gets roughly 6/10ths on weight alone. Factor in aero, traction, driver skill, etc and you can see how a good driver can pull a full second on the Camaro. Would like to see an SS do it but it will take a lot of work into the car to pull the stock Z06. Going to work it though since I take delivery of my SS in June and my Dad has a Z06. Add the $40k difference in price to mods on the SS though and I could make the SS walk all over his Z06 in any environment.

Bottom line, love both cars and have wanted a Vette since before I got my drivers license not biased in any way. Both cars are awesome in thheir own way.

I'd trade my ss in for a z06 in a heartbeat. And I'd prostitute myself...

Too bad it wouldn't handle the roads here and there none in this country :(. Don't feel like paying 120k for a z06 ... :(
