I need a fairly cheap option to record and download onto my computer so I can best analyze it. I just don't want to put out the money say on HP Tuners and not really use it that much. I need to find someone with HP Tuners in the area who would be willing to do a ride along and do some testing.

After the CAI I am done modding the car. I will probably trade it off in 2013 for a ZL1. |

If your want the most bang for your buck with the CAI intake I would add the ADM scoop as well. With the Vararam the scopp is not needed as it gets it's air from in front of the radiator as you are cruising down the road. A straight shot of air right into the engine. I love that about the Vararam.

Paul, as long as you can monitor LTFT, when you put the pedal all the way down (100% TPS) while cruising along going say 35 mph in 3rd gear, that should cross you over from CL to OL. The LTFT should lock on to a fixed number and stop floating around. I know the actual TPS is lower than that something like 48% but going 100% will guarantee it. I still have my stock tune on my laptop that I reference with HPTuners software on occasions like this. I also have a new Aeroforce gauge that I'm still working on getting the over the steering wheel pod made so I can do monitoring, although my AFR looks fine at WOT with the new setup.

BackinBlack - have you considered a used Predator for logging? I got one used on here for way under $200. You can save and download short logs directly to the tuner or use the free datalogger software to connect it to a laptop and log all day and night. Fairly cheap option that is well supported and works great.
For those with a VR and did any data logging, did your LTFTs go up or down when you installed the intake?

I've got the vr and like it so far. I've been debating on a tune. How would I go about it? Do I just give my mod list to say janetty, and he sends a tuner with it loaded? Also, where does it hook up at?

Yep Ted would be able to take care of you and the OOBDII connector is under the dash by your left knee.

Awesome thanks. So my "no tune" vr would have no issues with a tune? I've got 2500 miles on my car and a vmax tb in the mail so I'm thinking a tune is needed next. Maybe lt headers after.

It will be even better with a tune. But if you wanted to, VR will sell you just the piece that differentiates the tune from no tune. With a tune, the tune version supposed to give even more gains.

My vararam was waiting for me on my porch when I got home today. The vmax ported TB is in transit. I'll (sadly) put my stock tune back this weekend and start doing my baseline logging and hopefully get some stock dynolicious runs in this weekend, if the weather holds out...
