ASKING for help

Cancelled my apointment for today, taking it in sometime in the next two weeks. While talking to my service rep.,he said they where looking in to the problem to see if chevrolet had any thing on it. I'm the frist at my dealer with this problem or the frist to have a complaint. I asked him if he would be willing to talk to other dealers that know of and were fixing this trans. issue . He said yes and would like to, and I told him I would try to get him some service reps. names, #,and dealer addresses. So I and other members could pool our resources ,get the dealers that are fixing and know what the problem is,together with the ones that this is new too.. so we can all get it fixed under WARRANTY!!
So I'm asking for dealer addresses , names of service reps and phone# of the dealers that are fixing this M6 issue. Like Sack-man's and MillerTime it sounds like theirs have a handle on the problem.

Update:

Got my car back today (Monday 04/25) from the dealer. I was pleasantly suprised that the transmission came in so fast. It was Friday (04/22) when I was told they were gonna order the new trans and today at 4pm I get a call saying the car was ready to pick up. I dropped it off with them on Monday (04/18) so it took about a week.

The trans shifts so much better than the last one, it is not as notchy going into second gear and just feels smoother across the board. I havent tried any full throttle quick shifts yet and will try to put a few miles on it before I attempt it but as of right now I am happy.

The service manager showed me my trans torn down and advised one of the shafts the gears are assembled on was bent or warped. I tried to get him to let me keep the trans but was unsuccessful. It was worth a try.

The following are part #'s from my invoice.

92246731 Transmisison (Cant find anything on the net about it.)
88861800 Transmission Fluid
12377967 Brake Fluid

My Dealer is Sutherland Chevrolet in Nicholasville, KY. So far I am happy with their service and the service adviser there is great, he kept me updated the entire time.

nomadicdogg, I apologize but I don't have all of the TSB's and documentation that the dealership has at their disposal. I also am unable to find any information as to why there isn't a TSB for this issue nor do I know if one is coming. If it does happen and I am able to use it I will update the forum when I can. I hope that helps.

@ Jeff GM better do something they are turning there head to this problem i'm currently in the process of hiring a lawyer.... My car grinded since 1000 miles and now it has popped out of gear (2nd of course) multiple times. This faults falls under the Kansas Lemon Law. You would've thought that GM learned from Toyota about trying to cover up OBVIOUS problems. I had a 8 month old in the car seat when it happened i'll be damned if my child's well being is @ stake just to save a couple $'s. All we wont is a F'n TSB to make it easier on us @ the dealerships

Mine has been notchy since day one even when warm, going into second and according to GM is a normal operating characteristic.

--- In the real world, the notch will most likely lead to a grind. Not looking forward to that. Isn't it about time for a TSB/Bulletin.

Question for the people that have grinding issues. How does the shifter feel while parked, clutch in and moving the shifter into second/third? Notchy or smooth?

I understand your frustration at the issue and understand how more attention should be paid to this issue but until I get more information on this issue from GM I will be unable to say anything other than what I have currently in my information. My suggestion is that those with this issue and not with a case with Customer Assistance either through myself or through our Customer Assistance line at 800-222-1020. I suggest calling them and getting your cases setup to get the issue resolved through your dealership to make sure that everything is properly documented. You can even send me your information and I will setup the case for you as well. I hope this helps all of you.

All you keep wanting is everybody's information? Can't you see there are a lot of people who are fed up?

Sick and tired of talking on phones and dealing with jack ass smart addic dealerships?

We are done. I know I gave up on my car. It gets worst everyday just yesterday it started vibrating really bad at around 3k rpm in 1st gear. And a slight vibration in 2nd.

The car is a lemon. I will not stop until this car gets bought back.

Sorry gm but these cars don't deserve to be called camaro.

Mines going in Monday, weather permitting. Unless I drive like the old fart I am, it grinds going into second gear at higher RPM's. It's done so down shifting into 2nd a couple of times also. Dealer has been great in the past so I don't anticipate any problems on their end.

By the way, yesterday was it's 2nd birthday. Should be hitting the 7,000 mile mark soon. Damned Michigan weather!!!!

05/05/11 Update: Finally took it to the dealer yesterday. Service manager agreed that something wasn't right. They've ordered the necessary parts to replace the second gear syncros. Was hoping for a new tranny but if they can fix it by replacing parts, I'm cool with that too.

05/18/11 Update: Parts are in. All I need now is a few rainless days so I can take it in!

B440, have you got a case # yet? IF everyone having this issue will do as Jeff says and open a case # it may help raise the issue to where GM will move on it. Not saying a case # will fix your tranny but it will help everyone raise the issue at GM. Good luck hope they fix it for ya..

The latest issue is clutch stuck to the floor under medium acceleration. And the crazy vibration.

I don't know what will happen to it next I quit driving it. Leaving it parked. I don't feel its safe for the road.
