Engine cover

I noticed many of you have modified yours personally..

I already have a design in mind, but was curious if you guys had to sand or prime, and how many coats you applied? Nothing to crazy, just don't feel like shelling out 300+ for someone else to apply one or two colors...

cool..

so 5 coats of paint... 3 coats of clear coat.

and you sanded with steel wool? hmm interesting. I would've thought with very fine sand paper.

Anybody have issues with the heat in the engine bay and these paints?

Yes sir sorry for the spelling my phone helps me with that lol. No problems so far and I did it back in November. I even washed the engine bay with a pressure washer. To make the Chevrolet letters black I sanded them after painting till the ABS showed

I was thinking of drilling pilot holes, then putting a chrome screw at each spot.

Yea I wasn't going to say anything, but I thought you were a little drunk lol...

I plan on painting the whole cover black and adding an accent color for the V8/Chevrolet .... I was even curious to try some flame stencils, but I may be taking it too far with that.

How was it putting the cover back on? I know it is easy to place take off, but not entirely sure how it is re-attached.
