Thanks Lee, I was hoping you would see that question. I knew you would know.

If I am remembering correctly now, the tune model DOES indeed have the screen with the round circle tube. That would explain yours. They had to add the screen to both models to stop the surging.

The screen helps make the airflow Laminar instead of turbulant which is probably screwing up the maf readings without it. Vararam did a lot of design work on these things and it sounds like some CFD work (computational fluid dynamics analysis) Basically studying the flow through their intake and how the flow dynamics impact flow across the maf, maf readings and engine response.

My tune model with my tune runs perfect. Best intake out there IMHO.

K&N off/ Vararam installed

I had some hardwear left over from installing a wall mount for one of our flat screen TV that worked prefect for mounting!!! Both spacers and screws

I like it much better than the K&N so far! just put it on this morning and haven't put many miles on it yet but the car seems to like it a whole lot better!!!! Better drivability with good responce!!!! Exactly what I was looking for.

I knew I had seen it somewhere. The neck on mine was not a perfect circle and why I called it an oval.

I didn't realize they added the honeycomb or MAF screen to the tune model as well. Definitely would make them hard to tell apart.

Just installed the Vararam this passed monday and put it on the dyno today. Gained 18 HP and 28 lbs of Torque from the baseline I got last week. Tuner was impressed with the gain with this intake. Going to track tomorrow night to see how much of a gain in ET.

Wow!! That is REALLY nice gain. Is that tuned vs stock or is it just the intake and no tune?

I'd like to know some additional details as well.

Can you post a chart? Any other mods?

My camaro is bone stock with the Vararam No Tune Model installed and muffler delete. Getting a price on a cam, headers and full 3" exhaust, than I'll have it tune. Dynoed last week with the muffler delete and it had 381 RWHP and 376 lbs of Torque and today got 396 RWHP and 398 lbs of Torque. I'll try to copy the chart and post it up on here.

The intake is already extremely popular. If results like this become typical, this thing will really go through the roof.
