Painting Question

I see a lot of people Paint the Tail Light Bezels by themselves and it looks good. I'm just wondering what most people use to paint them. I'd rather spend $20-30 and do it myself than spend $150 for painted ones and I like to do the work on my car myself.

Thanks for your advice in advanced.

You can also use a product called Plastidip. Its about 6-7 dollars at home depot. It puts a black rubber coating over the bezels and can be peeled off if you ever get tired of it. Also, there is no need to sand the bezels using plastidip, just clean em up and spray it on.

I used plastidip on mine. It was super easy not having to sand them and I love how it turned out. Just be sure to wash them good.

Not meaning to hijack, but does the Plastidip hold up well to washes?

I just picked up some primer from Home Depot, applied it just to be safe and give it some umpf. Then painted over with Rustoleum all purpose, dries for 24 hours.

The blacked out bezels looks 1000x better in my opinion too. Go for it

I used Plasti-dip on my bezels this week and I think that it looks great for a $6 mod. I just washed mine with Dawn dish soap and then wiped them down with isopropyl alcohol. All you have to do is follow the instructions on the can. I did 4 light coats spaced 30 minutes apart. The best part is if you decide you don't like it, just peel it off.

I also took my front emblem apart and gave the middle insert 3 coats. Came out really nice. However just be careful when taking it apart becasue I had broke one of the sides of the center emblem off and had to glue it back together (no biggie, I have the front bowtie delete). I probably should of used a little filler to make the piece nice and smooth again where I glued it together. But oh well, it was just an experiment before I try to do the rear emblem.
