any word on the final hp #s for these - ive heard over 550, but nothing else. then, what do they weigh? i cant wait to compete with one of these on the strip - better hurry while mine is still stock

I think this is the match up all of us are looking forward too....

I'd be glad to line up across from you, but sounds like feb 2012 is about the earliest we can hope for to see this match up.

I have a 69 dart that I would love to line of against your GT500 and make look slow.

No offence but your car will be obsolete before too long. It's the upcoming SVT or GT500 that will be the ZL1's competition.

Seriously though, who keeps our cars stock these days anyways. Put another cam in and all BAM!

Really waiting to see dyno numbers.. manufacter claims can be so off..
look at mustang and camaro
both underrated...

In the CTS-V the engine makes more power to the grough then the 2011 GT500 so hoping with lighter weight of a ZL1 it will be able to win if magazines arent too bias..

depending on the hp rating on the ZL1, it would most definitely be a drivers race for the current gt500s.

those numbers for a 2011 gt500 are horrible (442 whp)- they are horrible for a 2010 gt500. my 2010 did 457 whp last week stock. that's 5 below what the cts-v was in the vid. im thinking im smokin that caddy!

Lightweight ZL1, interesting...with all the added equipment, i can imagine the 2012 Camaro ZL1 is easily going to be heavier over the Camaro SS.. It might not be alot heavier but I'm guessing it will be in the neighborhood of about 4,075lbs. too many extras have been thrown in for it to drop significant weight, unless GM uses Aluminum or Carbon Fiber on quite a bit of body structure(doubtful they will)..

Nah....let's be honest. The GT500 is a worthy opponent. This will be a good ol' slugfest!!! Two heavyweight cars going for the title. I am super confident in the zl1's engine, but the ford has the weight advantage.

I can't wait for the battle to begin.

Yeah, your GT500 is a great car and will always be. My dart is a drag car so it wouldn't be a fair fight. I'm just busting on you a little. I'm sure it won't take long to see the ZL1 match up with a 2010 or better GT500. That's one of the first things I want to do when I get mine.
