amber halo,s

well if it don,t have to do with speed i,m lost..lol..just recd my amber halo{headlight and fog} ..never realizing that with the rs/ss my fogs don,t seem to turn on no metter what i do...what do i need to do to wire these up...i am going to install the halo,s this weekend...do i keep the factory white halo in place-remove it -or put the amber behind it? i have read a couple diff posts on this and i,m hoping someone has done the exact same mod so they can chime in...the manual part i can do, but unclear on whether to remove or keep orig halo and exactly how to wire..aac did send me a switch...do i wire everything to switch and use that to turn on amber halo,s and keep factory exactly as it is...that way they will function as normal...that seems the logical way...1 aac switch activates all amber halo, and without disturbing any gm wiring all lights can be shut down by leaving in off mode...sorry for the long post, just want to get some help..thanks

with the RS package you don't have fog lights. You have DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). You need to remove the stock OEM halo ring. Yes, wire the amber halos to a switch. That would be the easiest way.

Yes, you can mount the amber halo behind the stock halo. But in order to do so you need to cut the amber halo ring so that it fits behind the stock halo.

thats a good thing....the look of the indv leds is what everyone tries to stay away from...I am working on a mod for the stock halo ring...going to put a RGB led in with a controller in place of the stock white led..better looks and cheaper also...

okay, i saw that when they say on dvd" optional cut off top of original ring"..that is what i want to do...so when you turn on seperate switch for amber halos, the stock rings will not be on , the amber light will pass thru them? correct?..my friend builds some serious sound systems and has access to equipment they use to cut lucite and plexiglass for special enclosures ..he could prob cut me something similar for fogs , so they match evenly..what do you think? thanks for helping a newb on this stuff

Yes you can cut the stock OEM ring. That is what I did with my install. Just took some bolt cutters and snipped right through the plastic
