I plan on buying an LS, swapping the v-6 for a 4 cylinder Honda motor and adding a ZL1 body kit. Is that wrong?

If you want to, then do it. Don't listen to anyone tell you how you MUST do your car as far as personal taste appointments. I'll gladly let them pay for my car if they feel they have some say-so in what I do to it.

I am humorously amazed at how "offended" people get when you put on a component on your car that they feel is somehow reserved for some "holy grail" car. I've even read posts where people are mad at GM for putting the Z06 front ends on the Grand Sport! The real burning question is: Where's the outrage with the 5,000 plus Elvis clones out there?

I don't do it, nor would I do a whole clone (diffuser is cool, so it the front end- but sorry, I wouldn't use the emblems), but I don't take it personally when I see a poseur. I acknowledge it for what it is, and go on with my life. I've got bigger fish to fry in life.

That's why, and the fact that it's not a ZL1 to begin with. Why try to make a fake one? What's the fun in that? Go for something different and original.

That's what they tell you, but from what I can tell, it appears the front fenders are the same...unless they attach differently, I think someone who said that probably was either wanting to side step the question or somehow downplay the fact that it sure looks like it will interchange. I believe it will.

People can clone if they like, and if the GM built ZL1 front fascia won't interchange, I bet someone will build come out with one eventually. The only component from the ZL1 I would like to clone would be the MRC suspension. Keep the powertrain, keep the fascia, I'm taking my 2SS in my own direction. Clone, don't clone....as long as you love it, it's all good.

What I think is even worse is when an older muscle car is redone and cloned then they call it a "Tribute" car!! Further more put it up for sale at original SS or Z28 or what ever was the performance model would sell for. "Tribute to what?!!" Their wallet! :(
