Has no one mentioned that most SS cars with a 150 shot are barely doing times like this? I think I saw some doing low to mid 11's. V6's seem to like nitrous quite a bit.

I don't think those tires should be a problem 10 seconds at a time going any speed under 150mph. I (when I was young and dumb) drove a Civic at 85 on a spare for 4 hours before...with no issues.
Awesome time!! Gives up V6's hope for stomping some local V8's!! I have a Charger R/T that runs 12.8 in my sights!!

One of the car rags did a test years ago on a Corvette and a Taurus, measuring performance of the cars with a compact spare on one wheel. They also drove extended distances at high speeds with a spare. They never had a problem. I would think today's spares are even better.

If you look at his trap speed (112 mph) you get a clear picture of how much power he's making (not all that much more than a stock LS3 Camaro SS). But he's making excellent use of his power to get down in the 11s with just 112 mph trap speed. A Camaro SS with similar mods, plus a 150 shot (and 18" Hooser slicks) should trap significantly faster down the 1/4 mile and have the capability to run significantly faster times. But I love seeing the V6s running fast. I think it's great. And I'm sure plenty of Camaro SS's will be suprised by a few of them. |

I recognize the need for safety while drag racing. I think its safe to say we have covered that here in this post. What I want to know is what did he do to get to 11.96. I have read the post, though is it as simple as a 125 shot and slicks + great driver. Or is there a tune involved in this?

Give The Guy A Break
Hey, can't you nay sayers take it at face value. HE WAS UNDER 12 WITH A V6.
![]() ![]() You are all over him for safety and safety should be first concern. BUT, did you ever ask if this was going to be a full time strip car. I didn't think so. So I will say it again. THANKS, FOR AN OUTSTANDING RUN!!! Some of us V6ers are wearing bigger smiles because of you.![]() ![]()
