Has everyone with this TPW gotten their rides yet? Just concerned about my fellow 3/28 TPW Camaro Brothers and Sisters!

Got a call this morning that my car is finally at the dealership. They will be prepping it, and installing the ground effects today. I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow! I'm happy, but the excitement has kind of worn off with all of this hassle -- I imagine that will change when I pull into that dealership! Yours should be soon, BlueDragon!

Operator, I am still waiting. Checked my railcar this morning, and it said it has arrived in Louisville. I'm not sure if they are unloading it there, like sensible human beings, or if it stays on the train for a while. I was originally told they would be shipping it to Nashville. Who knows. Thinking I'll be getting mine next week.

Suskam, I am with you. Hopefully I'll get mine next week, and I am definitely excited about it, but some of the polish has been worn off by all the run around. If I pick mine up next Wednesday, it will have taken 55 days for her to get to me. It only took 17 to build her. And of course, no one at GM is willing to make any concession or apology for that. Hopefully, the permagrin will wash all that away once I turn the key for the first time, but currently I am still pretty annoyed about the whole process.

Oh, and for the record, Todd, 494 miles in 55 days equals nine miles per day. Yeah, I easily could have walked there in that time.

*Sigh* Just checked my railcar...... and she's headed to Nashville, because that makes any sense at all. Yup, definitely looking like next week.

Isn't Nashville a bit south of you? Are you sure you have the right rail car?

Maybe somebody down south made a better offer for it?

LOL, don't even say that. Yes, it is a bit south of where I am (320 miles). I honestly don't understand how this makes any sense, but I was told from the time that it got loaded that they would be sending it to Nashville, then trucking it back up. I'm not sure why you would turn a 500 mile delivery into a 1,200 mile delivery, but that's GM's call I guess. Just praying I get her next week.

Ok, I could see that as a possibility, but if that's the case, let me ask you this. Why bother with the rail at all? It is about 320 miles from Nashville to Dayton. It is about 490 miles from Oshawa to Dayton. Why pay CSX at all, and have them messing with it for 2.5 weeks? Why not just put it on a truck straight from the factory, and drive it down here? I have to believe that the train shipment cost more than the extra 170 miles of truck time.

It is what it is, especially at this point. It just bothers me because I expect that GM is wasting a lot of money and causing customers a lot of frustration in the Great Lakes / Central United States region because of poor logistics and order management procedures.

Like I said in my last post, at this point, I'm just hoping she gets here by next week.

Mabe US and Canadian customs are involved in the logistics? "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you"

Congrats, Suskam! Happy Camaro Day, have fun with your new baby! I just checked my status, the car arrived in Nashville last night, now its just a question of how long it takes to get put on a truck.

Thanks!
Hate to tell you, but mine was transported to Lordstown before it was unloaded from a train...

LOL, honestly Suskam, I find your case even more baffling than mine. From Oshawa to Louisville to Lordstown to you. Derp. That's a pretty big circle to make. Wouldn't you think they could just load it on a transport ship and float it over the lake? At worst, I would have thought they would just truck yours around.
No, instead we gotta train it in a giant circle and waste a couple weeks in the mix.

No more worries for you though, she's here. Now go enjoy her!
