I live in IL. and the law requires a front plate. I have 28,000 miles and have not been pulled over once with no front plate or mount. I dont drink so I dont care if I get pulled over. I keep the mount and plate in the trunk incase I get pulled over. I will just tell the officer it was never installed, and I wont be lying. Give it a try.

Ive had my plate on the windshield for 7 months now and havent been stopped but i purchased some zipties from lowe's yesterday and plan to put them on soon.I want to avoid the hassell

In Maryland I don't believe the windshield placement is legal. If you dont mind taking the risk for just drive without it but I can honestly say in MD its just a matter of time you will get pulled over eventually

I am going with a topflight kit
no drilling thru the bumper uses 3m stuff to stick too the bumper but after it gets the clear bra I am also going IBM for a matching frame. checkem out http://www.topflightrepro.com/camaro-products.shtml |

I ordered this one, bolts to the bottom of the bumper and you can retract if you need. They also a electric version with a switch.
