lol I suggest you stay inside till you learn something about real life. It has nothing to do with reality TV. ![]() Quote:
On the flip side, we in business have to never cave in to folks begging for a time frame. Even an estimated one as they will almost always take it as a deadline written in blood before it is over with. USA1... Vararam will undoubtedly be moving forward with new products in the future. I suggest not paying anyone for them untill they are actually released. That goes for anything in life from anyone or any company.

Why would it be locked. I've seen nothing that would require it being locked.
Just a discussion going on while folks wait on more updates.

I don't watch reality TV. I don't have the time. I saw what Steve put up saying they'd be shipped by the end of April as the intake was ready. Then I saw where the Houston folks started chiming in here about the upcoming show and how one would be donated as a prize and didn't get much out of the back and forth. Let me give you a little insight about business. Goals are set all the time. Sometimes they are met and sometimes they aren't. Sometimes when they aren't penalties are involved, whether it be monetary or future contracts or whatever. If a goal isn't met usually it is analyzed as to why not and what it will take to complete the project and a new goal/plan is made. In any case the customer is given an update. That doesn't have to be a date, but something more than we are making it better is usually required. I still believe this intake will outperform the others due to the design idea. That is why I have my money towards this even when I already have a "tube with a cone filter". I was finally given an update from Maryland Speed and right now from what I was told I feel confident they are on the right track from what they were told.

![]() Dude, c'mon....I haven't even driven or seen my car in nearly two weeks because I left it with Vararam to help them move this intake along. I would have gotten you a video of the Corvette but, um, something happened to it...:(...really really sorry Patrick about that water pump seal going bad and the ensuing coolant bath for the engine compartment. )But, hey, I've got a nice blue rental Impala LT for the weekend. It's kind of on the extremely quiet side but it's got a six in it, will that work?

As for an update on the intake progress...I stopped by Vararam this morning to see how things were going.
First off, it looks like the changes that were made to add performance gains at higher rpms has required changes to the looks of the intake. There is only so much room between the throttle body and the radiator core support and the intake spacing in this area is critical to MAF sensor behavior. So changes were needed to ensure that enough air was getting to the filter. The upper filter cover piece was changed and is now larger than it was before but provides a larger volume of air for the intake to pull from. The scoop that extends down is now wider (and shorter). I'll try to get some pictures of the new setup next time I see my car. I still don't have an updated timeline to pass along but I got the feeling that things are coming together.

![]() And yeah man just pulling your leg, I cant imagine two weeks without my baby. I know shes stored for winter and thats rough, but when the weather is beautiful, its 10x harder :( But in all seriousness, when you do get your baby back, VIDS. Your vids are the best and I actually still listen to them, love the outside point of view or audio ![]() does the vararam sound like a normal aftermarket intake? is it loud? Sound a bit different? May sound like stupid questions but I would really like to know lol and couldnt find any vids of SSs with them on youtube

As for sound, the intake itself is quiet. Vararam works hard to ensure the airflow is as smooth as possible, which leads to less noise caused by air turbulence/disturbance. They also focus on the design inside the intake to ensure that sound wave pulses coming out of the engine through the throttle body get cancelled out rather than allowing them to escape out the front of the intake. My exhaust sound has changed a bit though. It's a bit louder and cleaner (less muted) sounding. I'll make sure I get both the intake and exhaust sounds when I do the video.
