[QUOTE=PnCRedJwl2SS;3247321]OH, by the way...my latest update:

Got the ding on my right rear wheel fender area fixed (looks like new!). Jacks Paint Place in Converse did an outstanding job.

Also, I took my car back to my dealership, Gunn Chevy, for some warranty work. They put on a replacement front air dam (the original came off on the highway after a car in front of me kicked up a re-tread that I couldn't avoid running over).

They also replaced my brake rotors and calipers all the way around (under warranty--rotors were glazed--I didn't even realize it, but my service rep noticed it and offered to replace). I just took it in because the brakes were squealing so much, it was driving me nuts! That's gone (for now, at least).

Pete, sounds like GUNN took good care of you. Did they replace the brake pads when they replaced the rotors and calipers? Did they tell you what caused the glazing? Maybe Harris Hills?
Glad she's all fixed up look forward to seeing you soon!

Usually brakes glaze over if you ride them too much, or if you brake really hard when the brake pads are still in the "break-in" period. From what I've read, most performance brake pads require a certain break-in period so that they don't glaze over.

I've never fully understood the procedure and why it's needed, but if Pete threw on a brand new set of pads before running Harris Hill, then that may be the culprit.

Over the weekend, we were notified by the Rio Grand Valley 5GC Club and they are driving here to participate in our Audie Murphy car show on the 11th of June. They are interested in hanging out Saturday afterwards and/or a do a morning cruise on Sunday.

What are your thoughts?

The more the merrier?

I hear they're also looking into joining our Swanderosa thing, which should get us close to the 50-car mark the production company seems to want...

No one else wants to go? Didn't really what to go by myself but I wanted to see if the CAI will improve my time at all and it's rare I can get off work early on a Wed.

Sorry, I don't want to go back until I get my own CAI put on. I'm on the list for the vararam but I'm getting impatient and the more I read, the more I am about to say screw it and buy the Cold Air Inductions CAI. I'm going to order Friday if there is no update from vararam. What intake did you get? Are you happy with it so far?

I went with the CAI cold air, had it put on at CF5-II. I wanted to go with Injen but they did even show up to the fest, so I choose CAI. I'm very happy so far, gives me a better sound on the car and also improved my highway MPG by about +3 mpg more. I would say it's worth the money.

Yeah..."Rain splashes and small puddles can cause hydrolock and may cause damage to the engine. If possible, it is highly recommend avoiding puddles or flooding conditions."

That's from Injen's website...I wanted to go with them too until I found this.

Any noticeable gain in power with the CAI inc. intake so far? Let me know if it does anything for your times. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Or you could just add one of their hydroshield pre-filters like I did I've been through plenty of puddles and no hydrolock for me.

According to Wikipedia, that appears to be the case.

I will update in the TF3 viewing thread...

"You may significantly reduce the risk Hydrolock by purchasing Injen Technologyvïs Hydro-Shield pre-filter. Hydro-Shields provide added protection against water ingestion and pre-mature clogging of your air filter."

"Hydro-Shield are water repellent and not water proof. "

From there own website again...."reduce risk". So there still is a risk...$300.00 intake versus a brand new engine....any risk is too much for me. I sure would like one, don't get be wrong, their numbers are the most impressive!!! I work at a construction sight with a dirt parking lot.:( I just can't afford the "what if" scenario.
