IMHO, ABM wasn't given the time in the public eye for potential buyers to see it and want it. The Chevy website was terrible in the way it portrayed available colors. I'll always believe that GM dropped the ball on killing ABM or not offering Jetstream Blue.

I settled for Summit White when they cancelled Aqua Blue Metallic. Other than that I got exactly what I wanted black and tan interior and all. If they hadn't introduced ABM, I'd have settled for SW because Imperial Blue Metallic was too dark for my taste. But blue is my favorite. I love my SW now though. It really has grown on me. A LOT.

I walked into the dealership, asked for the most basic Camaro, in Silver and when negotiation time came, I asked for the racing stripes and spoiler. He gave it to me along with the mats, factory tint, spare tire (instead of the inflation system), and for an extra 1K, SS wheels with the Pirelli P-Zeros 20", all for under 24K! I got to keep the 18" stock wheels and tires w/TPMS and later on sold it for more upgrades! I love my LS V6! I'm blessed to have it! I got what I wanted!

I factory ordered and still didn't truely get what I wanted. Being that its a DD, and I'm in Canada, the V8 would have been way to easy to get into trouble in the winter time. Not to mention that MSRP on a 2SS/RS (I'm a tech guy, need the toys) up here is around $50k, and I really can't justify spending 10k less on a car then I did on my first house.

I got lucky.
Drove up to B'ham with my wife on a whim trying to get out of my Vette.
She suggested a dealer that I had forgotten about.

Sure enough, there she sat.
Silver 2SS/RS, manual, leather, loaded. Low miles, good price.
Boom goes the dynamite!!

Two rims had small scuffs, and they swapped them out for unblemished.
I'm thrilled so far!!

sounds like my story except that they didn't even have one at any dealer around me to actually sit in or look at until after I ordered mine, then a week after I ordered the very first one in daytona beach came in,a lady ordered a LT , so I got to see it and look in it but not even sit in it or drive it. Got mine sight unseen basically. I told them it didn't matter,I want one and unless it drives down the road like a chevette or something stupid I will take it lol!!

I knew I wanted IOM, but settled for the V6... at the time was dating someone who had a kid... and was worried about gas prices...

Upgraded a month ago to the V8 SS/RS, not missing a thing! (cept gas prices being lower LOL)

I got everything I wanted except I wanted a SS. I didnt want all the bells and whistles of the RS package, just wanted that V8. But I passed b/c the price was too much for a basic everything else but motor and the fact that I knew I would get in trouble with that kind of power. I drive my v6 like a race car already. Plus I have 2 small kids (5 yr old twins) and my b/f is a deputy so that wouldnt look good having his g/f getting pulled over all the time, lol! I believe I will upgrade later on but right now, I feel I made the best choice.

I wanted a sun roof and a SS.. but I settled for the V6/RS instead. None of the Camaro's on the lot had sun roof's.

I settled for black interior instead of IOM interior...I only found two cars with IOM interior in the area at the time.
One dealer was charging a premium for it..and the other dealer slapped on aftermarket backup camera and navigation and priced it at $40k...
And if I ordered brand new, I would'nt have gotten the same pricing that they had on the ones sitting on the lot.

Got exactly what I wanted, plus it had tinted windows. I lucked out, the exact car I wanted someone ordered from the factory. When they went to pick it up they realized they ordered a stick so they backed out . Their stupidity was my gain.
