SS Audio Install

Finally installing my system. After building a sub box for a friend I got the initiative to finish my system.
Gear to be installed -
Audison VRX 1.5 sub amp
Audison VRX 2.4 front end amp
JBL MS-8 Processor
Morel Supremo 6" Mid bass
Morel Piccolo Tweets
Morel CDM 54 Mid (center)
Morel 12" Ultimo SC Sub

Just started on the sub enclosure (sorry about the phone pic's, will post better shots later) and will use the battery well for the enclosure. Targeting 1.25 cuft for the enclosure size.
The tweeter pods are build to fit in the stock location but I may move to the A pillars depending on how well they image in the stock locations.
Mid bass enclosures are build, just need to water proof and install. I'll post pic's of the tweeter pods as well as the various steps of the process as i proceed.

This is looking back from the driver's seat.

SS Audio Install

Thanks Iwantone2!

Just noticed I indicated the wrong front end amp, it's actually the VRX 4.300 with the class A module. Will run full active to the front stage off of the 4.300 and utilize the MS-8 amp for the center channel initially.

Update ...
Got the sub tub and sub mount shaped and glassed over the weekend. In order to get the tub in and out of the car easily and fit the sub in the desired location I had to fabricate the enclosure in two pieces.
Total volume as it sits is 2 cu ft so I will partition off the front section to achieve the desired 1.33 cu ft. I did a similar tub in my 01' Vette with a JL sub and it worked out well so I expect good results.

This weekend's goal is to finish the tub, and get the sub mount ready for paint as well as fab the power/ground panel...maybe even mount the amps...

looks great. That box looks pretty big for that sub, what the volume needed.

Seddon -Morel recommends a sealed enclosure size for the Ultimo SC of 0.7 to 1.8 cu ft., the current volume including the sub mount is 2 cu ft so I'll partition the front of the tub to bring the volume down to 1.33 cu ft. This should put me in the sweet spot as far as frequency extension and power handling. I'm going conservation with the sub amp - the Audison VRX 1.5 can push as much as 2000 watts RMS (@1 ohm) and 1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohm but the current draw is huge, factor in the current draw of the 4.300 and the MS-8 and I would be exceeding the available current from the stock system. Soooooooo I'm running both amps @ 4 ohms with 240 per side for the front stage and 600 for the sub. Total max current draw including the MS-8 is approximately 80 amps. Even though the system is SQ oriented it should still pound - when necessary.
Thanks Topdown and Edscapade, it's nice to have my efforts appreciated.

Hope to have more pic's up this weekend...JT

I have heard the morel subs and love them. I am currently running 1 hertz hx 250d, and 2 sets of hertz hsk 165xl. I love the audsion amps but got a great deal and the hertz ep1d and the hertz ep4x. I am under powering my components but it sounds pretty.

What are your impressions of the ms-8 i am using the bit one and love it.

Can't wait to see the fruits of your labor... makes it so much more fun and worth it in the end. Always remember to enjoy the process.
