I thought I was clear in my earlier post? Vararam told us to do a preorder, and they would ship a certain day. We put the part on our website..and people bought it. It clearly said you were preordering the part and getting a discount to order and wait. All the customers who bought put their cc info in or paypal info in, agreed to our order terms and clicked submit. It was not a give us your name, and we will get back to you thing. The only problem we have here is that Vararam swore to us the parts would be ready..and they are not..which is outside my control. The date was missed, and people are welcome to cancel their order if they want. I was actually kind of surpised to see the posts here because of the few emails we got regarding the ETA of this part, people have been nice, and understanding.

Also to further elaborate...the list thing you suggest does not work. Say 20 people put their name on the list..which is in a thread like this. Then I order order 20 and they come in. When they come in..then you have to go back and contact everyone on the list and get their payment info..which is a mess. People don't pick up their phone, or a month later, they no longer want it. Or it turns into things like "can you bill this in a few days when this clears". All in all, about half the people on the list actually buy...and we are stuck with extra inventory. I am sorry, but at that point, it is honestly too difficult to manage and not worthwhile at the margins were selling the preorder units for. Vararam can do it because all they sell is intakes. We sell a lot more stuff, and process a lot more orders any given day than they do. We also have a very automated system for processing orders that keeps costs low. It makes no sense for me to have my staff chasing down payments on an intake we are already giving a killer discount on. At that price, we have to do things the most efficiant way possible. Keep in mind, our deal was better than the VR group buy.

I am not trying to be terse..I am just upset because we were trying to offer a great deal here to customers...and were told by the manufactuer we would have the part. Now it has not happened, and we are turning into the bad guy. I am telling you..before I agreed to do this..I asked like 4 times "Are you sure it is done...I don't want this to be mess". I was told the intake was done it would be on time. I even added a week to the date they gave me. I know it makes no difference to people who ordered, but I am the most upset person here. We don't want to take orders and sit on them. We like to turn and burn, and get stuff out the door. The faster we process orders, the happier everyone is.

Again, I will try and get an update on this tomorrow.

I for one am not upset with you at all MarylandSpeed... I knew I'd have to wait, maybe not this long, but I know that's not your fault. I'm glad I was able to pay upfront too. That way I know I'm getting one early, and won't have to wonder if I have the cash when it's finally ready. More than anything, I know I got a great price and look forward to doing more business with you in the future. Thanks for the update...

I look at it this way SH** Happens, I wanted the intake and was willing to wait.
Maryland Speed did nothing wrong as well as VR, I deal with issues like this every day.
Its life so deal with it, I do know once I do get it I’ll be a happy camper.
+ I wanted the free cleaning kit Maryland Speed offered in the preorder.
I’ll wait till it is done the right way.

MarylandSpeed- great write up

Being the middle man can always put you in a spot you don't want to be in.

Maryland Speed:

What you posted is completely understandable, and I'd be upset, too. Thanks for the update. VR should be the one to tell us what is up, but we're basically left in the dark. Now it sounds like they hit another speed bump. Delays happen--and I think we all understand that--but JESUS, how long can this go on. We've been led on since the beginning of this year (maybe longer). Missing multiple deadlines, over and over and over, is just unacceptable. It also makes me a bit nervous about the actual performance of this product. Just my 2 cents

Well put MarylandSpeed. I'm glad you explained that here. It makes your situation much clearer to us. I don't blame you at all now that I know that's how it went down on your end.

With that said, if you need another buyer in the case that anyone drops out, I'll gladly purchase through you.

Thanks for the update Marylandspeed. I feel much better now that I am not in the dark on the situation. All we needed was an update from somewhere.

Maryland Speed is a top notch company with top notch customer service, for any that are doubting.

As far as the Vararam goes, the release of this intake was announced too early. I'm sure with this type of intake where the distance of airlfow is so short and the MAF sensor as tempermental as it is, getting the getting the desired consistant readings must be very time consuming.

I thought it was a done deal. I gave my cc info right after CfestII and was expecting it before Opening Day at Indy. In fact, I was told if mine didn't ship on that Friday, Monday it would and I'd get an email with my tracking info and to this day, well, no need in mentioning what has or has not happened. My cc info is good, 'golden' in fact and I'm just waiting. My Airaid is sold to another member but I don't want to part with it until I have this VR in hand.

I guess I just wish for some updated info. I don't want to pull out from the GB list but really, just some info on when we can expect the product. I figured at worst case scenario I would have had it for tomorrows Camaro/Corvette Chevy Appreciation Day at Indy where we'll do some laps again, but that's not happening either. Two missed chances to have this intake on the famed motor speedway. Last year I had the Airaid for Opening Day and David at Airaid got me the V2 tube before the Camaro/Corvette rally and I could tell a difference. Just wishful thinking I guess to have it for these events. Just want to know whats going on?

I think everyone wants the best possible product as possible and I can understand tweaks and all but as Marylandspeed said, he thought and was told it was done as most of us were. It does make one wonder how you go from "Done" to "tweaking" for a little more power. I would have thought every variable would have been taken into consideration for this some time ago before a final product was ready to be piece milled and boxed. :(

Just some real time, updated info would be appreciated at this point.

I tried calling Vararam today and got no answer. I left a message and will update as soon as I know. As for why Vararam is not updating..I am guessing that Steve is afraid of posting the same info I am getting from the owner, and then having people get mad at him when ETA's are missed. I am certain these are close...I mean it really can't take much longer if they were ready a month ago.
