Yes, you can buy new/used/refinance an auto loan for 2.49% at penfed credit union if you have an account or sign up for one.

I saw that also in their newsletter, but I am only paying 3.49% now and would only wind up saving about $5 per month with the new rate. For anyone that needs a car loan or wants to refinance to a lower payment that is one sweet deal.

PenFed is awesome. I've used them many times and just recently refinanced my wife's Maxima to get the 2.49%.

does it matter what credit you have? mine is like 720 and 692 something for other two. Don't have much credit history

Yes, you need good credit. Your scores should be good enough. Sometimes they'll ask for proof of income.

No. If you're not in the military, you can donate $15 and become eligible to join. It is explained on their website.

There are numerous ways to become member. The biggest thing about them is how the treat their customers. Great deals to be had and they evaluate their customers by service, not always credit only..
