Sorry that vintage of Mustang is not insurmountable for an LLT.
CAI intake =14.9 HP increase SOLO catback exhaust = 29 HP increase SW LT headers with high flow cats = 20 HP increase Vince's 13 HP tune TB upgrade = 3 HP increase (These are my planned upgrades BTW. Have CAI intake installed and SW headers are going on as soon as my gaskets get here.) Obviously this doesn't equate to a 79.9 HP increase up to 391.9 at the crank but I think it's reasonable to assume you could see a 30 HP (15 -20 lb feet of torque) gain with these mods and be up over 340 HP - 280 lb feet of TQ at the crank not to mention benefit from a 50-60 pound loss with just these mods. Throw in some lightweight wheels and a 3.73 rear end and the prospect of taking down a stock 2010 GT is certainly more than doable. And yes I have been to the track more than a couple of times and have watched plenty of Mustangs GT's get down the track cuz there's a ton of them where I live. And no that doesn't make me experienced either. Most of the Mustangs around here if they're anywhere near stock run in the 14's. I just don't see consistent 13's like the rest of you seem to out of these cars. But as someone else said in this thread, race him already and post the results.....

Not correct....LESS HP (probably 20 - 25 less HP, more TQ, less weight....

Just going with SOLO's claims and dyno sheets off their website but yeah you're probably right LOL.

A 10 gt mustang manual can run 13.3's bone stock, with a competent driver, and have trapped upwards of 106 mph. To bring that to camaro terms, that would be a above average run for an l99. While you guys have "enlightened me" that it would be closer then I originally thought, the mustang WILL NOT see said camaro's tailights, unless he's not actually racing. stock the camaro v-6 is a mid 14 second car, so lets say 14.4 to be on the nicer side of things. Is it going to be up 1 full second (essentially 100 hp, for the sake of the conversation for every 10 hp=1 car length) in it's quarter mile time from the above mods? I don't think so. |

If you cant admit that, then you're just being hard headed. Bets are off however if the GT is modded in any way, even intake and catback will be enough to make it an almost sure win for the GT. |

I will agree a 10 GT is on average a faster car than a 10 V6 Camaro. But to claim the 10 GT is a 13.3 sec car (bone stock) with a competent driver is a big stretch. You could even start a thread over in Stangnet and they'll tell you the same. 13.3 (bone stock) in a 10 GT would be a glory pass (like a mid 12 sec run in an LS3 Camaro). |

List of mods is very short. DOT Drag tires on a set of dedicated wheels (Yes they are light and smaller than stock 19's) CAI. Custom exhausts. and a Healthy shot of N02. However there are others on here that are posting 13.8's etc. without the spray. My Dad says the 13.5 is lazy and feels he can do better. I agree since he did it for a living for many years. We will see when he gets here from down south this year. I will keep my slips next time. I didn't think a 13.5 was something to brag about. I was just simply stating that its possible to get a completely stock 10 Mustang GT in a Drag race... Anyone who disagree's hasn't raced one.

those that have done the race know the real answer. If you doubt the answer then prove it to yourself. It's all good. The BBC version of top gear shows us time and time again the driver is the most important factor in winning, even if the cars aren't exactly close. I do like that show.....

Heck, we've already had two different V6s here that ran nitrous get a 12.01 and an 11.9 quarter mile. A camaro V6 with tires and anything over a 50 to 75 shot is really not even a fair fight anymore versus a stock auto '10 GT.
