By the time gas prices are manipulated to force car companies to build cars the government wants, the ZL1 and Z28 (perhaps) and SS will be things of yesteryear. People already thought at one time they'd build muscular cars forever. Look how that turned out.
I think the LLT is exacly why this won't happen. If they take this technology and put it in a 4.9-5.0L V8 then they get lots of power (420+HP) and good fuel economy (32+ Hwy.). Remember, CAFE doesn't say every car has to meet the target, just the fleet average. Sell enough Eco Cruze's and you can sell a few ZR1s and so on.

In fact the only one to give me crap about it being a v6 was my uncle and thats just cause he likes giving me a hard time.
Funny how folks forget that "muscle" cars of the not-too-distant past had about 300 hp and a real whopper had 350hp.

Yeah... not if we keep voting these commies in...

A Cruze will be a luxury muscle car... if you could ever afford one.

Very true... very very true.

You are absolutely correct.

Of course it's slower, but that does not mean the car is not fast for what it is. I believe the car is capable of running 14.2 in the 1/4 mile right out of the box. That's 4th gen LT1 numbers folks. Pretty damn good in my book. Some people think that if you can't run a certain 1/4 mile, your car is a POS. Just don't pay any attention to those guys. It's all subjective. What's slow to someone else, is not to another. I think the best recourse is just not to respond to these threads.
Your car is great looking and despite what many have said, does have great power and is very quick as a stocker.

Depends on your age. LOL

I'm 42 so those 40-50 year old muscle cars are what the 16-22 year olds were getting and tinkering with.

Lots of buddies had Firebirds, Trans Ams, an Olds 442 here or there...a few of the 80's camaros... one had a stingray vette...

If 10-20 years is distant for you... I probably have oil stains in my garage older than you. LOL

sounds like Ford's playbook. I've had a lot of ohv chevy V8s, but that 5.0 coyote engine is pretty remarkable.

Or how the 3rd Gen V8 Z28 in '82 had a whopping 145- 165HP, 0-60 8-9 sec and 1/4 in 17 and a half

a car doesn't have to be the fastest car on the road, it just has to outrun the slowest lol. A v8 is fast and while its all fun and games saying that your faster then the v6 i'm sure vette forums with stock vettes are saying at least their faster then the v8 camaro to the owners of the faster corvettes.
