It would be nice to see a long tube header option. That would be a great match with the included upgraded exhaust system.

The reason I state this is because, when we add long tube headers to the SS, we usually tune. Therefore, we put doubt in our mind about the drive-train warranty. Do you guys see what I'm getting at.

how much you think the suede inserts will be? So that means that black leather would come standard?

Long Tubes mean relocating the cats in most cases...and that effects emissions...even with a tune - it'd be difficult to meet federal requirements. That's one of the reasons even Ford stopped at shorties for the 5.0L engine.

A definite necessity for the Facts and FAQ thread!

No idea. Nor if it'll be part of the optional wheel/shifter suede. But I'd assume it means "leatherette" would be standard. Like what appeared in the 45th anniversary car.

It looked very nice.

I'd be interested to research what the overall ratios are...rear-end only tells the story when all else is equal.

I know there is no pricing until the end of the year. But do we even have a "ballpark" idea? 45,000 maybe, base model?

Sorry, just had to ask and get a feel of what everyone is thinking.

Thanks!!!

Yes the ballpark is "around what a GT500 costs"

Although... 'Father refuted claims of $47K not long after ZL1 was introduced, so I imagine, like V6 and V8 CAMAROs, there will be a small "premium" over similarly equipped Ponys. If we see a $49K GT500, I see a $51K ZL1. Cheaper would be better, but that's how this game works.

I'm expecting it in the $51-52k range, since the GT500 base price is bound to go up a little to the $50k mark.

Unless I come across some money, I think I will have to stick to the SS. 45k was probably tops for me, unless I save a big down payment. They are still going to make the 2SS versions right? yeah, they have to, nevermind. That is kind of a silly question... right???

What do you consider a big down payment?

basically that the ZL-1 is 2/3s SS... and 1/3 improvement lol...

and that 1/3 that was improved can be found on the first page of this thread pretty much

my favorite parts are the increased power/tq, wider wheels, cosmetics and interior

Read the post with all the new tidbits on ZL1. If you're not familiar with standard SS flare, try searching the General Section or Chevy's website

In short:

dual-mode exhaust; short shifter; new engine/transmission; additional coolers, like rear diff' and heat exchanger; Magnetic Ride Control; new front facia and additional functional splitter and brake ducts, air extractor hood, rocker moldings, front and rear wheel deflectors, new rear spoiler, new rear facia; specific STB; beefier drive and axle shafts and iron differential housing and upgraded differential; new wheels, tires, and brakes; unique ZL1 interior accoutrements; EPS; and more that hasn't been announced.

That was the quick and dirty.
