Rotofab throwing a CEL

Installed last night and noticed the engine light on the way to work this
morning.Checked the MAF # when it was out last night and it is the strong one,not the weak one.Anybody have this problem before?I can't get to auto zone to check out CEL til after work.Thanx

Also: Car feels good-no hesitation and increased throttle response-seems to be working as advertised....

Would help to know what the code was. But also check the PCV fresh air pluminf along with the MAF direction and fit as mentioned in post #2. Also that weak/strong MAF thing only seems to cause problems for the OTR (Vararam) intakes.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Thanx guys,I am leaning towards that maf, also.I don't think anything is loose cause it seems to be running without any bogging down. The only other thing that came to me after I wrote earlier post,is that I didnt see no gasket on maf when I removed it.

The more I think about it,the more I think I left the gasket embedded on the old intake.

Sounds like something is not sealed or oil may have got on the sensor.

I with you on this. It is a very small gasket and easy to miss.

Won't know til I get home, but I do wear contacts and don't have the greatest vision, the gasket could have just melded into color of intake.Goes to show-slow down ,take your time, and do the job right! Lol

I am a little surprised that the CAI instructions don't cover the importance of this, the only reason I even had knowledge of this is from these forums

Live and learn and try to enjoy the experience. Hopefully it's something simple.

I do not think you can put the MAF in the wrong way on the new roto fab. YOu may have damaged it on instal, or could have a loose fitting on the tube.

Interesting...I get in car after work and CEL is gone.I drive it a good 30 miles-does not come back-wtf?
Only thing I could think of is(tell me if this makes sense),the sudden rush of air to the maf made it code until it compensated?

more likely to have been a contaminant on the MAF. Oils from your hands can cause the light to come on at start up, and when burnt off it will clear the code on next cycle.

Highly unlikely you touched the sensors wires because they are recessed and thus somewhat protected.

Very likely you won't see the code then. Others have said they cleared the code and it's never come back. I've only ran the CAI, Halltech, and Vararam and haven't seen the code. But I gave plenty of cold idle and cruise time, before testing the waters.
