So you're able to build enough momentum to make it close itself? The gas struts on mine are way too strong, and the deck lid is too light.

I have always used the bowtie, but have recently noticed that the right side of it is coming unglued. It could be because of a combination of the hot weather lately, and the pressure from closing the trunk.

I use the bowtie. But now I notice that the top of the bowtie is getting fine lines, not scratches, but more on the line of swirl type marks.

I pull down the back seat and then get in the trunk and close it from the inside.
