Bluetooth alternative?
Hey guys,
If you're like me and bought the '11 1LS, all we have is the 3.5mm audio jack and a cigarette lighter in the middle console storage area. Now, the only thing i use this for is hooking up my droid to the audio jack for listening to tunes but i hate the wire. Could this be an alternative to going through trying to install the GM bluetooth system? Simply purchase one of these Jabra Bluetooth Receivers: http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-A120s-Bl.../dp/B000KVWNR2 It's usb powered and also has a battery that says 10 hours of music time, and to take care of recharging the device, convert your cigarette lighter to usb power with the slim flush mount usb charger from thinkgeek : http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/travelpower/e24a/ You could probably easily hide this neatly in there. What do you guys think? |

Does your car have the bluetooth connection for a headset? I wonder if it also has the audio connection also because I have an android phone and I listen to my music via bluetooth, no wires.....

No, I had the choice of the car i wanted without the bluetooth package or the car i kind of wanted with it. So all i got is a 3.5mm plug. no bluetooth devices show up when i go to pair on my droid.

i also have an LS w/o bluetooth. that jabra device seems good. if u get it, tell me how it is.
BUT for music, i just hook my iPod via AUX cord and i never touch it except to turn it off.

I assume you have the PDIM then (e.g. the USB port)? All i have is an aux audio jack which means if i want to change songs i have to do it at the phone not at the radio.

I tried using the Scosche Motormouth for a bit and it seemed to be doing alright. The last few times I used it, however, the call quality got pretty bad. (Note: I didn't pay $67 like newegg listed...it used to be around 30 bones)
