Yea I love Audi's... there are 4 of them in my family, but the real bad boy that is coming out is the RS5

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Cross shopping
I'm 44 years old. The third car I owned was a '84 Z28 with a HO engine. I loved that car. But GM was having significant dependability issues about that time so when I got a new car I got a Honda and I've stuck with them since. To be very honest until this 2010 Camaro comes out there hasn't been anything in GM's lineup that appeals to me other than a Vette which isn't practical for me as a father of two. But when I saw this car on the movie Transformers I was thinking that GM is finally gonna make a car that looks cool and can fit my needs. I like it more and more everytime I look at it. But, for me, it will need to compete with a G37 or IS350. I know they are different kinds of cars that appeal to the driver for different reasons but when I get to test drive a Camaro I have a feeling it will win over the others just because of it's V8 and American muscle. No import sounds as sweet as american muscle (OK, maybe a Ferrari or something). I hope that GM hits a homerun with this one. I hope that they understand that every quality issue needs to be handled properly. I just wanted to throw my two cents in in response to the issue of cross shopping. I wish the best for GM and I can't wait to test drive an SS2.

I totally agree with the above post. I hope the quality is much better and that if there are issues they will be resolved accordingly. I also agree that many of those cars will be cross shopped. There are a few Japanese cars that will be looked at. In this day the v8 only holds weight with a small minority. It seems people forget that. It's about the whole car and a v8 won't make quality ie interior failings up to the majority.

Can you define quality...as you used it in this statement, I mean....I think I know where you're going, and I'd like to debate the point a little...

well Dragoneye it's more of perception in the quality. The quality is as good if not better than competition, but when GM uses hard plastics, it dumbs down cheapens if you will the perception of quality. Hence the perception gap between the Japanese per se and the American manufacturers it doesn't really exist. It's just perceived because of hard touch materials and cheap looking plastics. If there was soft touch and some real aluminum trim you would see the perception improve 100 fold, but there is not and it isn't.
